Jollywood Nights has quietly become my favorite Disney Christmas event

As a seasoned Disney-goer who’s been around the park more times than Mickey’s ears have been twitched, let me tell you about my recent enchanting encounter with Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios. Now, I’ve been to all sorts of parties, from the grandiose events in Cinderella’s castle to the swankiest bashes at Epcot, but Jollywood has stolen my heart this holiday season.

Let me clarify, I’m really fond of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. In my opinion, it boasts one of the finest parades in Orlando. The atmosphere on Main Street, USA during the holiday season is truly magical. If you haven’t checked out Wilderness Lodge around Christmastime, I highly recommend it. Disney really shines during this season!

As a devoted Disney enthusiast, I’m often asked where my favorite resort or park lies, and surprisingly, it’s none other than the enchanting Jollywood during its Jollywood Nights! Now, you might have come across some less-than-stellar reviews about last year’s inaugural events. The internet was rife with tales of lengthy queues and organizational chaos. However, I choose to focus on the magic that could be found amidst the hustle and bustle.

On my birthday in December, we decided to treat ourselves a little extra. With my work taking me on numerous trips, I’ve accumulated a pile of Marriott Bonvoy points. So, I cashed them in for a stay at the Dolphin Resort, and voila: It was date night! We didn’t have an Advanced Dining Reservation, but checking out the various options, I felt confident.

My spouse and I thoroughly enjoyed shopping for formal attire, and we felt proud matching our styles. I believe I purchased a top hat. To avoid parking hassles, we opted for an Uber ride to The Dolphin, which turned out to be more cost-effective than paying for resort parking.

When we checked in, ALL the cast members complimented us on our Christmas attire.

At Jollywood, our visit deviated significantly from previous groups’ experiences. Instead, it was meticulously arranged, somewhat minimalistic, yet incredibly fantastic. There’s simply no comparison to the magic of being in a Disney Park at this particular season.

Jollywood defeats Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on a couple of different levels. While MVMCP is better with littles, Jollywood is for that Disney adult in all of us. There are several different party-specific cocktail options, and the abundance of live entertainment is staggering. At one point, I was just chilling on a bench near Indiana Jones with a grin from ear to ear. If I had to choose one, it’s Jollywood no question.
