Maya Hawke shares update on Stranger Things season 5
As a seasoned gamer of both virtual and real-life adventures, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the fifth season of Stranger Things since the fourth one ended with that mind-boggling cliffhanger! The news that it’s going to be more like eight movies packed into a season has me beyond excited. I mean, who doesn’t love a good cinematic binge?
Stranger Things star Maya Hawke has shared an update on the fifth season of the hit Netflix show.
As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel the excitement brewing as we await the long-anticipated final chapter in production. Unfortunately, there’s no solid release date yet, leaving us hanging on the edge of our seats. But here’s some insider scoop from Hawke himself, who plays Robin Buckley: get ready for a season that’s bigger than ever, designed to keep us gamers hooked when it finally drops onto the streaming service!
She mentioned that they’re producing around eight films, with each episode being quite extensive, during her conversation on the Podcrushed podcast.
The performer revealed that the shooting will carry on until the entirety of 2024, implying that the team will spend an entire year working on the next season. She acknowledged the extended gaps between seasons’ premieres, typically stretching to about two years each time.
They put significant effort and focus on maintaining high-quality writing for each season, which means that composing and filming each one requires a considerable amount of time.
In a different part of the same episode, the actress shared her experience of joining a series that was already a hit, as her character debuted in the third season.
As a devoted TV enthusiast myself, I must admit that the experience was quite daunting. You see, I’m one of those people who can’t get enough of the small screen, and sometimes, I even feel a tad self-conscious about my passion for TV shows.
She expressed concerns that introducing fresh characters into the series often leaves her feeling annoyed. She prefers the initial cast and isn’t interested in following the new storyline, which made her apprehensive about how viewers might react to her character on this highly acclaimed show.
Hawke pointed out that “The main character from ‘Stranger Things’ is the writing and its unique style.” He further noted that if you immerse yourself within it, laugh at the jokes, follow the narrative, and become invested, it will keep you firmly engaged without leaving you feeling abandoned in any way.
Streaming on Netflix, you can watch Seasons 1 through 4 of Stranger Things. Production for Season 5, the final season, is currently underway. If you’re in London, don’t miss out on “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” live at the Phoenix Theatre! Book your tickets now, available until February 2025.
