Miranda Hart takes her husband Richard Fairs to Strictly Come Dancing studios to watch pal Sarah Hadland perform – after the pair tied the knot in secret

Miranda Hart took her husband Richard Fairs to the Strictly Come Dancing studios on Saturday night.
51-year-old popular comedian disclosed last month that she’d wed a person she met during the pandemic, sharing the news then.
Fans were left speechless as Miranda revealed that she secretly tied the knot this past summer, following her relationship with an enigmatic man who undertook the task of cleaning mold from her home back in 2020.
He was later revealed as divorcee Richard – after he was pictured picking her up from the Cheltenham Literature Festival last month – 24 hours after she divulged his first name on The Graham Norton Show.
On the night following last Saturday’s live Strictly performance, the newlywed couple was seen exiting Elstree Studios hand-in-hand, an infrequent public outing for them. Richard, their driver, took his newly married spouse back home.
On various instances, Miranda has taken a break to lend her support to her ex-colleague Sarah, who was known for portraying Stevie in her self-titled sitcom, during her participation in the BBC’s dance competition.
In her recently published book titled “I Haven’t Been Completely Honest With You,” Miranda chose to keep secret the identity of her husband, instead using nicknames like ‘The Boy’ and ‘The Mould Man.’
However, it was disclosed that their engagement took place in January, while they were visiting Kew Gardens in western London. This announcement followed the disclosure that they had deeply and helplessly fallen in love with one another.
She subtly suggested his looks by mentioning that her new spouse had a stylish “salt-and-pepper” hairdo on a well-defined, handsome man.
A grey-haired man was spotted leaving Miranda’s west London home after the announcement.
Last October, it was captured on camera that Miranda was cycling alongside a male companion in Hammersmith, which is close to where she resides, for the BBC.
On The One Show last Tuesday, Miranda proudly displayed her ring and reminisced about her engagement. She shared with the audience, “Standing on a bridge overlooking a serene lake, there was an unexpected quiet. Then, in a more serious tone, he called out, ‘Miranda.’
‘I turned around, and as I did, he got down on one knee. ‘Miranda…’
In the midst of overwhelming emotions, I started sobbing without pause, seemingly agreeing mid-sentence, which could have been quite an awkward moment if he was in the process of tying his shoelaces.
‘I didn’t think a traditional proposal would affect me so.
‘But there was someone knowing all my ridiculousness and brokenness and still willing to bend down, look up and commit to loving me and standing by me for the rest of his life.’
Recently, Miranda shared with her followers that she quickly developed feelings for Richard during their initial dinner outing, which happened to be a pizza night amidst the peak of the pandemic.
She mentioned that the duo had spent two hours chatting in her lounge, passing the time until their pizza arrived.
She added: ‘Unfortunately mine had shunted its way across the box and turned into a calzone. I was going on and on about my shunted pizza and it did not seem to faze him.
At that stage of our conversation, which lasted approximately two hours, it became clear to me almost instantly that I had fallen in love with him. This was our initial meeting, yet surprisingly, he agreed to another rendezvous, even though I had rambled quite a bit about the pizza we ordered.
Miranda and Richard’s wedding is rumored to occur at 4 PM on July 6th, within an ancient 1,000-year-old church nestled in the charming Hampshire village of Hambledon. The ceremony was exclusive, with only a few family members and close friends invited, all bound by oaths of confidentiality.
Miranda went to great lengths to keep her upcoming wedding a secret. She declined to show off her wedding rings, which is customary for a church ceremony, and asked her guests to avoid posting any details about the event on social media.
Previously, Richard, the drummer in the community’s swing band, was in marital union with Jeanne Speight, a schoolteacher. Together, they raised a son named Jack and a daughter named Shula. However, their relationship ended in approximately 2017 after over two decades of marriage.
Lately, it’s believed that he resided with a homeopathic therapist of Indian origin named Dr. Anjali Hariharan.
