Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, unexpectedly appeared alongside actor Luke Grimes (known for his role in Yellowstone) in a new music video filled with famous faces.
Following in the footsteps of her well-known actress mother, 26-year-old media personality appeared as one of Grimes’ love interests in the music video for Ella Langley’s new song, “Choosin’ Texas,” which was released on Wednesday.
The video also featured appearances by Miranda Lambert, along with rodeo stars Dale Brisby and JB Mauney.
The music video began with Langley and Grimes, portraying a couple, driving back to Texas in a truck.
That evening, the two friends went to a bar for a drink where they met people like Brisby and Mauney. Lambert was also spotted performing on stage at some point.
While having drinks at the bar, Grimes noticed Phillippe – a woman standing nearby – and lost focus on his current conversation.
When Grimes and Phillippe rejoined their friends, they kept looking at each other, suggesting they share a history.
Langley went to the bathroom, and soon after, singer Kaitlin Butts came in as well.
The track came to a pause as the two singers had a brief conversation.
“You’re not local, are you?” Butts asked. “No, I’m from Tennessee,” Langley responded.
Butts then added, ‘I can tell. You have some kind of nerve bringing him around here again.’
Langley responded with a casual ‘Is that so?’ which led Butts to explain that Texas doesn’t let go of what belongs to it.
Grimes and Phillippe had a quick, friendly chat and caught up with each other.
I was so thrilled when Langley came back and asked Grimes to dance! He seemed miles away, lost in his own world, but he actually said yes! It was a lovely moment.
However, Philippe and the actor exchanged longing glances, and Langley eventually noticed their connection.
The music video ended with Langley leaving the bar and meeting Lambert, who was on her way back to Tennessee after her show.
“How are you holding up?” Lambert asked while they shared a drink of Jack Daniel’s. Langley confessed, “To be honest, I believe the man I love is in love with someone else.”
Lambert said, “It sounds like he’s not a good match for you,” and Langley agreed, saying, “I’m beginning to think you’re right.”
She chose to leave with Lambert and return to Tennessee. Meanwhile, Grimes went outside the bar looking for her, unaware she was already gone.
On Thursday, Phillippe shared on Instagram how happy she was to have been involved in the enjoyable photoshoot.
She shared a clip from her appearance in the music video with the message: ‘Texas holds onto its own… The official “Choosin’ Texas” video is now available! It was co-directed by the amazing @ellalangleymusic.’
‘This was such a fun shoot & I couldn’t be more grateful to be included in this stellar cast.’
Phillippe praised Ella’s talent for storytelling, saying he’s incredibly impressed by her creativity and eager to see what she accomplishes in the future.
“Choosin’ Texas” came out last October and immediately reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Wes Bentley is a familiar face on television, best known for playing Kayce Dutton in the popular show Yellowstone.
He has starred in other projects such as American Sniper (2014) and the CBS drama series Marshals.
I’m so excited to share that Phillippe is really embracing her creative side! She’s always loved acting, and recently she even made a fun cameo appearance on the Netflix series, Ransom Canyon. It’s wonderful to see her following her passions!
She first appeared as an actress last year in an episode of Ryan Murphy’s show, Doctor Odyssey.
The actress revealed she hadn’t always planned to become an actor, like her mother.
Her dad, Ryan Phillippe, is an actor too, and he’s famous for movies like Cruel Intentions (1999) and I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).
‘I definitely pushed it so far to the wayside,’ she revealed during an interview with NewBeauty.
Growing up, people often asked me what I wanted to do with my life, especially if I’d follow in my parents’ footsteps and work in the same field. They were curious about my plans and goals.
Phillippe explained that his main focus at the time was to become his own person and discover who he was, independent of anyone else’s influence or expectations.
She’s also going to be in the new movie, Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me, which is based on the graphic novel by Mariko Tamaki.
