Natalie Wood’s daughter reveals why people still feel protective of her mother 43 years after her death

Natalie Wood's daughter reveals why people still feel protective of her mother 43 years after her death

As a child who grew up with the enchanting spirit of Natalie Wood, I can wholeheartedly attest to her lasting impact and the protective feelings people still harbor towards her. Forty years have passed since her tragic demise, yet her relevance remains as vibrant as ever. It’s almost as if she transcended the physical realm, becoming a beacon of humanity that continues to touch hearts.

Natasha Richardson, Natalie Wood’s daughter, recently shared insights about the lingering effects of her mother’s untimely demise and her thoughts on why people continue to show affection towards her even four decades after the unfortunate incident.

43-year-old actress tragically drowned after falling from a yacht near Catalina Island over Thanksgiving weekend in 1981. This week, an author appealed to the Los Angeles District Attorney to reexamine her death case.

During an interview with People, Natasha Gregson Wagner, who lost her mother at the age of 11 on November 29, 1981, expressed her pride in her mother for touching so many lives profoundly.

Natasha remarked, “It’s astonishing how she still seems relevant after all these years, and how strongly some people claim to have known her or feel a sense of guardianship towards her.

Perhaps everything that happened had a peculiar significance. Perhaps the impact she made on others was even greater because she isn’t physically present on Earth anymore.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “I believe their bond stems from the shared history they’ve built over time. They grew up alongside my mother, Natasha, witnessing her journey from a young girl to the inspiring figure she is today.

It seems to me that a great deal of human essence is reflected in the characters she portrayed. Consequently, it’s as if many people develop a sense of care towards her, much like a parental feeling. For me, this sentiment closely resembles the maternal affection I have for my own mother.

Natalie, who tied the knot with Robert Wagner on two separate occasions, embarked on her acting career as early as four years old. At the tender age of eight, she landed a significant role alongside other actors in the 1947 film “Miracle on 34th Street.

Speaking about some of her mother’s iconic film performances in Rebel Without a Cause, Splendor in the Grass, and West Side Story, Natasha remarked: “These movies have left an indelible impact on many lives.

Natasha grew up with Robert Wagner as her father, although he wasn’t her biological one. He became her father after marrying her mother Natalie, following the death of her mother. However, Richard Gregson, a British producer who was Natalie’s second husband, is Natasha’s biological father. This all took place in July 1972 when Natalie remarried Robert Wagner.

As the years pass by, I find myself increasingly mindful of the fact that my dear father is approaching his 95th year. This realization weighs heavy on me, as it means he will likely become the final parent I’ll say goodbye to, having lost my beloved Gregson in 2019.

As I navigate through my extended lifespan compared to my parents, I’ve come to realize that everything subtly yet significantly evolves over time. This transformation becomes particularly evident when I look at my 12-year-old daughter Clover, a constant reminder of the changing dynamics in my life, shared with my loving husband Barry Watson.

Natasha shared with Clover that it was incredibly meaningful for her to aid in understanding who Grandma Natalie is, as well as helping herself come to terms with this, and transforming her sorrow into a constructive experience.

Her comments come just days after writer Marti Rulli said bombshell new accounts given to her by eyewitnesses allegedly point the finger at Natalie’s spouse Robert, 94.

Marti asserted that witnesses reported Natalie was shouting for help while leveling accusations at her fiery spouse, just prior to her passing, during those final hours.

According to what was reported by RadarOnline.com, Marti stated that the investigation won’t be closed while Robert Wagner is still living, since he is a person of interest in the case.

I’m keeping faith that the District Attorney in Los Angeles will find it appropriate to use both the solid evidence previously available and the fresh evidence I’ve collected, in order to secure justice for the murder of Natalie.

In an upcoming book titled “Natalie Wood and the Devil She Knew,” the author intends to reveal previously undisclosed evidence.

It was shared that the witnesses, including a teen who saw the actress recently before she passed, stepped forward when the case of her death was reopened in 2011.

Back in 2012, the official ruling on Natalie’s demise was amended from ‘unintentional drowning’ to ‘drowning and unknown contributing factors.’ This revelation came about long after authorities had cleared Robert of suspicion. I, being a diligent follower of this tragic case, have kept tabs on its developments over the years.
