4 underrated Netflix shows you missed in November 2024

As a seasoned gamer and Netflix enthusiast with a penchant for discovering hidden gems, I must say that November 2024 was a goldmine for underrated shows! The mainstream titles certainly grabbed everyone’s attention, but the real treasure lies in the overlooked series that deserve more love.

Instead of winding down, it’s always fun to hop on Netflix and catch up on shows you might have missed. That’s what I did for November 2024, and let me tell you, there were some fantastic, under-the-radar series that many Netflix viewers likely overlooked.

Hey there! Let me clarify something – I’m not discussing the most anticipated shows here. We all know that “Outer Banks” season 4, “Cobra Kai” season 6 part 2, and “Arcane” season 2 dropped in November. These were everywhere on Netflix Top 10, with everyone buzzing about them before their releases. Even the new Netflix original series, “A Man on the Inside,” from Michael Schur and starring Ted Danson, generated more excitement than the shows we’ve listed here.

Let’s kick off our list with an excellent series that should come back for another season soon – “The Cage”!

The Cage

Premiere date: Nov. 8

Title “The Cage” is an ideal watch for MMA enthusiasts, yet it transcends that specific niche. Here lies the uniqueness. The series debuted on Netflix this month and has garnered significant attention primarily outside of the U.S., though its popularity in the U.S. could grow with time as more viewers discover the show.

“The Cage” is a French Netflix original series centered around Taylor (Melvin Boomer), aspiring to be an MMA fighter. After demonstrating his skills against an experienced opponent in the ring, Taylor secures the professional chance he’s long desired and endeavors to make the best out of it. As new hurdles surface, he continues on his journey.

It’s highly likely that some of the faces in “The Cage” will be familiar to you, particularly if you’re an enthusiast of UFC or MMA. The series features stars like Jon Jones, Georges St. Pierre, and many others.

There hasn’t been a confirmation for season 2 of “The Cage” as of now, but I’ve got a positive vibe about it! We can expect updates on “The Cage” season 2 in the near future.

The Helicopter Heist

Premiere date: Nov. 22

If you’re familiar with me, you’d realize I’m always keen on binge-watching thrilling heist series, and Netflix happens to be the go-to platform for such shows. They excel in producing heist content, and The Helicopter Heist is just another proof of their skill, showcasing a top-notch heist production.

“The Helicopter Heist” – A Fresh Swedish Production

“The Helicopter Heist” is derived from Jonas Bonnier’s book with the same title. Featuring Mahmut Suvakci, Ardalan Esmaili, Dejan Milačić, and Iskra Kostić, this movie recounts a daring heist where the criminals employ a helicopter to land on a bank for executing their plan. The storyline is inspired by actual events that transpired in Sweden during the early 2000s.

It checked a lot of boxes for me, and it probably will for you, too!

The Empress season 2

4 underrated Netflix shows you missed in November 2024

Premiere date: Nov. 22

Among the shows listed, only “The Empress” is making a comeback, but it seems it isn’t receiving the appreciation it truly deserves. This series premiered on Netflix in 2022 and was quite popular on the streaming platform. Now, fans have been eagerly waiting for over two years for season 2, and finally, it has arrived! So, let’s make time to catch up with this beloved series!

In the original German series, Devrim Lingnau portrays Empress Elisabeth of Austria. The show delves into her romantic journey with Emperor Franz Joseph, played by Philip Froissant, during the 19th century.

This production, titled “The Empress“, can be categorized as both historical and romantic in nature. Compared to Bridgerton, it leans more towards history than romance. However, unlike many historical dramas that can become somewhat heavy or complex, this one is generally easier to follow due to its less intricate narrative.

The Madness

Premiere date: Nov. 28

The television series titled “The Madness,” featuring Colman Domingo, made its debut on Netflix on Thanksgiving Day. Given that it’s still early, we can’t definitively predict its popularity. However, I suspect that through casual conversation, it may gradually gain traction on Netflix. Yet, I don’t anticipate it topping the Netflix Top 10 list the day it becomes available for streaming.

“The Insanity” presents the tale of Muncie (Domingo), a CNN host, who becomes implicated in the murder of an extreme right-wing activist during his vacation in the Poconos. Determined to prove his innocence, Muncie faces resistance from numerous quarters, intent on convincing him to accept the blame. Can Muncie maintain his composure and uncover the truth to clear his name? We’ll have to wait and see!

In the series, Domingo acts alongside Marsha Stephanie Blake, Thaddeus J. Mixson, John Ortiz, Gabrielle Graham, Tamsin Topolski, Bradley Whitford, Ennis Esmer, Deon Cole, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and a host of other talented individuals.

Here’s a list of overlooked Netflix series from last month that you haven’t seen yet! Don’t miss out, catch up with all five shows available on Netflix today.
