As a dedicated follower of cricket and family dynamics, I must say that it is heartwarming to see Mitch March and his wife Greta embrace parenthood with such joy and grace. The arrival of their baby girl Olive has added a new dimension to their lives, one that I can only imagine to be as fulfilling as Mitch’s cricketing victories.

Australian cricketer Mitch March and his wife, Greta, have unveiled the initial pictures of their charming newborn daughter.

Mitch and Greta became parents for the first time on November 17, only a few days before Australia was set to play its first Test match against India in Perth.

And on Wednesday, the couple shared the first photos of the precious new addition to the family.

On Instagram, Mitch and Greta shared two pictures of their little girl. One photo depicted the baby peacefully dressed in a onesie, being lovingly cradled by both parents.

Captioning the duo of images, Mitch and Greta also revealed the baby’s name to their followers.

‘Our Olive. Our hearts are so full,’ they wrote, augmenting the sentiment with love heart emojis.

The post was met with a flurry of congratulatory comments from followers, including from Jessica Head, the wife of Aussie batsman Travis Head.

‘Congrats mum and dad, she’s beautiful,’ the cricket WAG wrote.

Earlier this month, Jessica and Travis added another member to their family – a baby son they’ve named Harrison. He is their second child.

Additionally, Becky Cummins, who is married to Australian Test and International ODI captain Pat Cummins, also shared her good wishes.

‘There she is! Such a beautiful little angel,’ Becky wrote. ‘Congratulations to you both.’

Australian Test wicketkeeper Alex Carey also offered a succinct ‘Congratulations guys.’

Cricketing great Matthew Hayden also offered his best wishes with: Congrats mate. Can it get any better then a beautiful baby girl xX.’

In 2023, Mitch got married, and later, in February, he was awarded the Allan Border Medal. Grateful for her consistent backing, he expressed his thanks to his spouse after this achievement.

At the Crown Palladium in Melbourne, Marsh shared that he frequently discussed a topic with his spouse, catching himself momentarily as emotions swelled within him.

‘I just wanted to get one more crack at it, and its [Test recall] been amazing.

Eight months ago in my wedding vows, I praised Grets as extraordinary, for she has provided me with the life-altering viewpoint that I lacked. And let me tell you, our lives together are nothing short of entertaining!

‘If I get a duck, or get a hundred, she’s always the same.’

Mitch hails from a sports-oriented lineage, as his dad, Rod Marsh, is an Australian cricketing legend, and his older brother Shaun played for Australia in all three forms of cricket as well.

His sister Melissa is a former professional basketball player and he is a cousin to former AFL West Coast Eagles star Brad Sheppard.

Mitch is currently the Australian T20I captain and the One Day International vice-captain.

He also served as the Australian Test vice-captain after the 2018 Australian ball-tapering scandal.

In September, Mitch and Travis Head set a new world record for the highest T20 international powerplay score with an impressive, aggressive performance against Scotland.

Travis hit 80 using 25 deliveries, while Mitch scored 39 with just 12, resulting in a total of 113 runs during their six-over powerplay. This surpassed the 102 runs made by South Africa against the West Indies last year.
