First trailer for Death in Paradise star Josephine Jobert’s new detective series

As a seasoned fan of detective shows and a devoted follower of Josephine Jobert’s work, I must admit, I was left bereft when she bid adieu to her role as DS Florence Cassell in Death in Paradise. However, the first trailer for her new detective show, Saint-Pierre, has brought a glimmer of hope and excitement to my otherwise gloomy post-Florence world!

If you’ve been yearning for actress Josephine Jobert from the series “Death in Paradise” in another police investigation show, then the initial teaser of her upcoming detective program titled “Saint-Pierre” might alleviate your longing.

After wrapping up her role as DS Florence Cassell in season 13 of “Death in Paradise”, Jobert has moved to yet another charming location where puzzling mysteries abound.

Born in Paris, her fictional character Geneviève ‘Arch’ Archambault from DC Saint-Pierre now resides as a local on a charming island within the French territories of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, which is located off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

In the debut trailer for the CBC series (available at the top of this article), we find Jobert’s Arch encountering the latest police force member hailing from the mainland. Enter Royal Newfoundland Constable Inspector Donny ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick, portrayed by Allan Hawco.

On an island due to probing excessively into political matters involving his former wife’s new companion, Fitz initially struggles to adapt and find his place socially.

It appears he’s not comfortable around tall places or watercraft, and that can be a bit inconvenient when residing in an island group.

Initially distrusting and unenthusiastic about her new coworker, Arch eventually grows more accepting towards him to such an extent that he decides to stay put even when Fitz and another colleague find themselves trapped in a potentially explosive situation which could have left them maimed or killed.

As I tread cautiously around Fitz, his inner struggles loom ominously, the forthcoming game series is shaping up to deliver an intense narrative arc while still maintaining its classic episodic mystery format.

The series is scheduled to start airing on January 6 on CBC and its streaming service, CBC Gem. However, there hasn’t been any information released about when or where fans of procedural shows outside Canada can watch it. Don’t worry, we will keep you updated as soon as we have more details.

Starting January 6th at 9pm, Saint-Pierre will make its debut on Canadian channel CBC. You can also stream it on CBC Gem on the same day. Unfortunately, specifics about international broadcasting are still undisclosed.
