Maya Hawke gives major update on Stranger Things season five
As a dedicated Stranger Things fan, I am absolutely thrilled by the news of Maya Hawke’s return as Robin Buckley for the fifth and final season! The fact that they’re making eight movies instead of the usual episodes is just mind-blowing – it feels like we’re in store for an epic finale!
Maya Hawke has given an update on the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
Last month, a 26-year-old actress hinted at an upcoming project. In June, she discussed this project and shared some filming details during her interview on the Podcrushed podcast.
She mentioned that they’re producing essentially eight full-length films. These episodes are quite extended. (8 episodes in the upcoming series)
In 2019, Maya made her appearance in the show, and she is set to reprise her role as Robin Buckley for the eagerly awaited continuation of the series that concluded with season four in 2022.
Apart from that, she mentioned that filming is set to carry on till the end of 2024, implying that the cast will spend an entire year working on season five.
Hawke elaborated on the production of the series, stating, “The team is extremely dedicated to maintaining high-quality writing, which means each season takes a considerable amount of time to write and an equally lengthy period to film.
After revealing her recent project back in October, her discussion with the Podcrushed hosts, namely Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari, followed suit.
Maya is set to provide the voiceover for the audio version of Joan Didion’s 1968 collection of essays titled “Slouching Towards Bethlehem.
The renowned work penned by the deceased writer (who passed away at 87 in 2021) encompasses nonfiction titles such as “On Keeping a Notebook” and “Goodbye to All That.
According to People magazine, the individual who is referred to as a “nepotism baby,” being the child of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, expressed that they have long admired the literary works of Joan Didion.
‘A significant number of essays found in Slouching Towards Bethlehem were penned during the author’s twenties. It’s truly remarkable to have immersed myself in her writings for so long, still finding a sense of connection with her thoughts, as if we were contemporaries some sixty years on.’
She mentioned, ‘I’m thrilled to be able to share her remarkable pieces of art and familiarize a fresh audience with her timeless writing style.’
Previously, Maya has worked on several audiobook projects; among them are “Bravey” by Alexi Pappas and “American Tabloid” by James Ellroy.
Additionally, she lent her voice to the character Anxiety in the recently released animation series, Inside Out 2.
On November 5, the spoken version of Slouching Toward Bethlehem will be released by Macmillan Audio for publication.
Ahead of the release date, it is available for preorder.
During an interview with The Times (published in June), Hawke openly admitted that she finds it acceptable to be grouped alongside other children of famous Hollywood figures, who have undeniably been granted opportunities due to the influence of nepotism.
