Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Lined Up For 2025 Release with Full Cross-Play, Photo Mode, and Twelve Subclasses

As an ardent gamer with decades of gaming experiences under my belt, I must say I am thrilled about the upcoming Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3. The prospect of cross-platform progression and cross-play is a game-changer, allowing me to traverse the digital realms unbounded, irrespective of the console or platform my friends choose.

Larian Studios, the developer behind Baldur’s Gate 3, has shared details about what to expect from Patch 8, scheduled for release in 2025. This update includes exciting features such as cross-platform progression and cross-play, allowing players to seamlessly continue their game across different platforms. Additionally, a new photo mode is being added to capture and share memorable moments, along with the introduction of twelve subclasses to enhance the gaming experience.

According to the Patch 8 announcement, you’ll be able to join PlayStation 5 players on your PC, or play with Xbox users using a Mac in Baldur’s Gate III. What’s more, this game’s multiplayer will soon support full cross-platform progression, allowing players on different systems to save and continue their games seamlessly – a feature that feels like it was designed by the gaming gods themselves.

As soon as the update drops, I’ll have the ability to extend game invitations straight to my pals, no matter their platform. This cross-play lobby lets us all join together, breaking down the barriers between systems. Plus, with the Larian Network, we can easily discover multiplayer lobbies filled with friends on various systems. The update also introduces twelve new subclasses to our RPG adventure, promising a fresh wave of gameplay possibilities!

As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that this collection will feature a distinct subclass for each of the primary classes currently available. For instance, you’ll find the College of Glamour Bard, the Path of Giants Barbarian, the Death Domain Cleric, the Circle of Stars Druid, the Oath of the Crown Paladin, the Arcane Archer Fighter, the Drunken Master Monk, the Swarmkeeper Ranger, the Swashbuckler Rogue, the Shadow Magic Sorcerer, the Hexblade Warlock, and the Bladesinging Wizard.

As a gamer, I’m excited to uncover a plethora of fresh abilities, animations, visual effects, summons, and cantrips for the Oathbreaker Knight. Plus, there will be unique voice lines that set this character apart. On top of that, don’t forget about the photo mode! It’ll come packed with diverse settings and customization options, allowing me to capture and edit shots from combat scenes, dialogues, or cinematic moments. Expect frames, filters, post-processing effects, and more!

Update 8 is set to deliver additional bug fixes and enhancements, and it will be up for beta testing in January, spanning Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Upon completion of the beta test, Update 8 will subsequently roll out to Baldur’s Gate 3. Just a month ago, Update 7 was released, and you can take a look at it by clicking here.
