The Weeknd has a new album — and he's bringing it to the Rose Bowl

As a seasoned music enthusiast with over two decades of concert-going under my belt, the news of The Weeknd gracing Southern California with his “Hurry Up Tomorrow” tour has sent a wave of excitement coursing through me. I’ve seen my fair share of shows at the Rose Bowl, but an in-the-round experience? That’s a first!

The Weeknd is bringing his new album to Southern California.

On Wednesday, the pop-soul artist revealed that his upcoming album titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow” is scheduled for release on January 24th. To celebrate this event, he plans to perform a concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena the day after the album drops.

The upcoming album, titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” serves as a sequel to 2022’s “Dawn FM” and concludes a trilogy that was initiated with “After Hours” in 2020, according to the Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye). This new album will be released approximately a year and half after the finale of “The Idol,” an intriguing HBO series featuring the Weeknd as a cult-like pop star character, which he co-starred with Lily-Rose Depp and was created by Sam Levinson, also known for “Euphoria.

The artist known as The Weeknd has unveiled three tracks from his album “Hurry Up Tomorrow”: “Dancing in the Flames,” “Timeless” featuring Playboi Carti, and “São Paulo.” Notably, “Timeless,” a track that The Weeknd performed live at this month’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival, has reached No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot 100. Meanwhile, “Dancing in the Flames” currently stands at No. 55 on the same chart after previously peaking at No. 14.

As per reports, The Weeknd’s concert at the Rose Bowl on January 25 is set to be a unique, all-encompassing event known as an “in-the-round” experience. This means that the stage will dominate the entire playing field within the stadium. Ticket sales for this highly anticipated show commence on Monday.
