GK Barry’s mother Loretta approves of I’m A Celeb star’s risqué chats and insists ‘we want more!’ as she arrives at Brisbane Airport with manager Hannah

Loretta Keeling, GK Barry’s mother, shared that she’s enjoying the daring conversations her daughter is having in the I’m A Celebrity jungle. She was spotted arriving at Brisbane Airport on Wednesday.

Loretta arrived in Australia, accompanied by Hannah Holland (GK’s manager), prior to the initial evictions on I’m A Celebrity.

On Monday, the TikTok sensation Grace Keeling, aged 25 (whose actual name is Grace Keeling), left fellow contestant Reverend Richard Coles, a 62-year-old individual, in fits of laughter when they delved into the topics of sexuality and religion.

In the course of an unanticipated bond, Loretta has disclosed her affection for the humorous banter between GK and Richard.

Hannah said: ‘I think the reverend did surprise me, especially their conversations.’

We [looking at Loretta] kind of both went oop’, she smirked.

Rubbing her hands in agreement, Loretta laughed: ‘We want more!’

Every night, I’ve grown accustomed to her gracing my screen on the television. At nine o’clock sharp, I can’t help but tune in. It’s become a sort of routine, a comforting ritual that I find myself yearning for. And now, being here, I feel an even stronger connection to her.

Katherine shared with Richard that she once held strong religious beliefs, and reminisced about attending a spiritual retreat in her youth, where older men advised her against pre-marital sexual activity.

Grace, currently in a relationship with Ella Rutherford, remarked that as early as age 13, she had this thought: “That won’t be my fate. My future is headed towards an experience known as ‘scissoring’ instead.

Richard inquired from Grace about the meaning of scissoring, to which she opted to provide a brief explanation rather than delving into specifics, and disclosed that it is an activity associated with lesbian relationships.

Later, he began telling humorous comments related to the ‘sparking sisterhood of snipping’, causing both of them to burst out laughing.

In the Bush Telegraph, GK confessed, “I entered this wilderness unsure of who I’d connect with or become close to, and honestly, if someone had told me I’d get along best with a reverend, I wouldn’t have imagined it possible.

‘But, he is honestly… I think he might be my favourite person in here.’

In another part of their discussion, Richard shared his feelings about being a gay man who is part of the religious community.

In 2005, the individual you’re referring to – who serves as a writer, presenter, and priest – was ordained. It was around this time that he met his future spouse, also a priest named David Oldham. In 2010, they formalized their relationship by entering into a civil partnership. Unfortunately, David lost his life in 2019 after a long struggle with alcoholism.

On Monday night’s episode, Richard openly discussed his sexuality with his recently made acquaintance, GK Barry.

GK inquired from Richard, “Was it challenging for you, being gay and performing that job?” To this, Richard responded honestly, saying, “Not at all. I’ve never had any doubts or concerns about whether it was acceptable to God.

‘Whether other people thought it was alright or not, well I’m happy to have that argument…’

He added: ‘Also, I was not the first. Sometimes I look at documents from the early church, or the church of the middle ages and I just think – so gay.’

The conversation inspired GK to speak about why she turned away from religion as a child.
