Shannon Noll doesn’t look like this anymore! Aussie singer has fans doing a double take at 2024 TikTok Awards in Sydney
As an ardent fan of Australian music, I must say that seeing Shannon Noll grace the pink carpet at the 2024 TikTok Awards was nothing short of a revelation! The man who once rocked our hearts with his raw, Aussie charm and rugged attire has transformed into a sartorial sensation.
At the 2024 TikTok Awards held in Sydney on Wednesday, Shannon Noll was nearly unnoticed by spectators as he made an appearance.
The second place finalist from the first season of Australian Idol, now 49 years old, appeared nearly untraceable on the event’s ‘pink carpet’, exuding an undeniable sense of stylish sophistication.
The artist known for “Learn To Fly” is often seen at home dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt, sometimes adding a leather jacket (flanno) or a weathered trucker hat to his attire.
However, Shannon chose to give his best as he mingled with celebrities like Jojo Siwa, Robert Irwin, and Anna Paul at the splendid occasion.
On The Masked Singer, the celebrity contestant exuded elegance in a striking red collar shirt, worn casually without being tucked in, paired beneath a sleek black tuxedo.
The jacket featured a monocoloured paisley pattern and a thin black lapel.
He paired his bohemian-chic jacket with a sleek, tight-fitted black denim and a pair of boots resembling crocodile skin.
Shannon adorned a silver necklace, which hung prominently due to the open buttons on his shirt.
He completed his elegant outfit by adding a fashionable black hat with a vibrant turquoise feather as an accent.
The guy with the guitar couldn’t conceal his natural rowdy charm; he cheerfully gave a big thumbs-up to the cameras while flashing a broad grin.
The singer recently revealed the moment he decided to transform his lifestyle and physical appearance.
In an interview with Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa along with Kate Ritchie in April, the artist admitted that he began working out at the gym because he recognized he was becoming “slim and overweight.
‘I’ve been back in the gym for a good eighteen months now,’ he said.
Host Ryan Fitzgerald inquired: Did something trigger that change for you, Shannon? Was there a point when you decided, “I’m not content with how I’m living, and I must make a change”?
Shannon remarked, “Indeed, I’ve been gaining weight, but I’ve always been slim to begin with. My legs are particularly slender. Without exercise and moderation in drinking, I can resemble the alien character E.T.
‘You get the beer gut,’ Fitzy responded.
Shannon concurred, saying: “Absolutely correct… Since I can’t have it, I decided to hit the gym once more. I put in a lot of effort during my workouts and strive to maintain a balanced diet while I’m exercising.
In the spirit of unabashed fandom, I must confess that the revelation from Shannon emerged following our shared clarification about the whispers suggesting a rift between us – Shannon and Cosima De Vito – post our time together on Australian Idol.
In 2003, the singers gained popularity by participating in the initial season of the talent competition. They reached the finale, sharing this achievement with Guy Sebastian, who eventually emerged as the champion.
In a disappointing turn of events, Cosima had to withdraw from the competition when she discovered she had throat nodules, potentially putting her vocal abilities at risk. This left her supporters deeply saddened and hoping for Cosima’s swift recovery.
During that period, there were discussions among viewers as to whether Cosima received more votes than Shannon even after she left due to health reasons, fueling speculations of a possible disagreement between the two.
Nevertheless, over two decades later, the pair have unequivocally refuted any lingering tension, joining forces once again to collaborate on Shannon’s latest album, “That’s What I’m Talking About.
Shannon acknowledged that he was genuinely upset by the abrupt departure of Cosima from Australian Idol, and emphasized that their friendship has remained strong through all the turbulence.
Regarding the backlash Shannon faced upon leaving, Cosima confessed to Woman’s Day, “I genuinely felt terrible for Shannon and carried a sense of guilt.
Our conversations rarely touched on this topic, yet our friendship endured, and it was implicitly clear that we both aspired for each other’s well-being. There was never any resentment or negative emotions between us, regardless of the circumstances.
On Shannon’s latest album, which is a remastered edition celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album “That’s What I’m Talking About” from 2004, the duo reconnected to record a fresh rendition of the country music hit “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” originally sung by Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean.
Shannon commented about the new song: “I believed it would be an excellent opportunity to reconnect with her by featuring her on a track again and having it played on the radio. She was thrilled to be involved, and her voice truly shone in the recording.
Cosima expressed that singing alongside Shannon once more was a unique experience, as if the 20 years that had elapsed since their time on Australian Idol simply didn’t matter when they reconnected.
Shannon leveraged the recognition he gained from Australian Idol in his early days to establish a thriving music career, marked by numerous album releases and tours, totaling six studio albums.
Apart from that, he’s had a total of ten songs reach number one on the ARIA charts, among which are hit songs like “What About Me,” “Learn To Fly,” and “Shine.
