Davina McCall’s boyfriend Michael Douglas reveals presenter is ‘out of the woods’ after brain tumour surgery and plans to return to work in January

After having brain tumor surgery about a week back, Davina McCall is now recovering well enough to step out of her recovery phase and looks forward to resuming work by mid-January.
The speaker, who is 57 years old, underwent surgery following her disclosure about a seldom-encountered colloid cyst, which afflicts merely three individuals out of every million.
While she’s recuperating at home, her partner, Michael Douglas, shared some insights about her health condition. He mentioned that following the extremely emotional experience they went through, she is now prioritizing getting plenty of rest.
On Tuesday, the hairdresser shared on Instagram Live that she’s currently feeling rather fatigued. She gets a good night’s sleep, usually retiring at 10 pm, and takes a nap in the morning. Additionally, she often takes a two-to-three hour rest in the afternoon as well.
‘It’s the way your brain heals is by resting. Her body is naturally forcing her to rest’.
Nonetheless, Michael assured fans by stating, “She won’t be back at work until mid-January. This gives her plenty of time for rest and rejuvenation.
‘It’s been a very, very emotional and quite an incredible experience. We’re definitely out of the woods.’
On Monday, following Davina’s personal report, she expressed gratitude for the support of her loved ones while holding back tears.
Greetings from my bed, I wanted to reach out and express my gratitude. A big, sincere thank you goes out to everyone who has taken the time to message me or connect with me.
‘It’s meant the world. It’s been mad and it’s just really nice to be back home. I’m on the other side. My short term memory’s a bit remiss but that is something that I can work on so I’m really happy about that.
In an effort to maintain my sense of security, I’m meticulously jotting down each action I take. Fortunately, I’m under the exceptional care of Michael and my mother, who are both taking excellent care of me.
I just wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for all the wonderful stepmothers out there. Truth be told, I don’t show my gratitude to Gabby often enough. Throughout my entire life, she has been a pillar of strength and support for me.
She expressed her feelings further: “Yesterday, I spoke with someone, and I mentioned that I received a large amount of Vitamin G. It seems whenever something like this occurs, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful. Gratitude has always been a part of me, and I’ve truly been fortunate throughout my life.
I am incredibly thankful at this moment, so I want to express my gratitude to each one of you. My recovery is progressing well; I’m taking it easy, getting plenty of rest, and even managing to sleep a lot. I’m feeling great! Frankly, I consider myself quite fortunate.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t help but express my heartfelt gratitude here. The messages I’ve received have truly touched my soul. A special shout-out goes to @mdlondon, who deserves the title of Best Boyfriend Ever, an accolade bestowed upon him not just by me, but by everyone who knows us. Previously this week, Michael shared another significant update on his Instagram after his surgery, writing: “News for everyone. I’m extremely grateful for all your kind messages.
In just the past day, she has significantly progressed. Now, she’s been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and is showing signs of full consciousness. Thank you, xx Michael.
The grid post then read: ‘Update – Mega progress these last 24 hours. Massive relief to see some light breaking through. Thanks for all the good vibes coming in from all angles. Up and Up.’

Davina explained that she received the diagnosis by chance after booking in for a ‘health scan’.
In the video, Davina shared that she received an offer for a health scan, which she believed she would excel at. However, the results showed she had a benign brain tumor, an occurrence that’s quite unusual, happening only about once every three million cases.
For a short period, I avoided dealing with the issue at hand by seeking advice from several neurosurgeons. After gathering many perspectives, I came to understand that I needed to confront the problem head-on.
This item is rather large, measuring about 14 millimeters across. Since its continued growth could lead to problems, it needs to be extracted. I’m planning to have it taken out.
She added: ‘Say a prayer for me. I’m in good spirits.’
Davina shared that although there wasn’t an imminent danger, the doctors were worried the tumor might expand further and lead to potential health issues.
She revealed she had been feeling ‘up and down’ and explained she would be in hospital for at least nine days before coming home.
A colloid cyst is generally a slow-developing growth located close to the brain’s center, filled with jelly-like substance. These non-cancerous formations often cause no symptoms and are discovered accidentally during diagnostic imaging procedures.

These often include agonizing headaches that are at their peak when I first wake up, accompanied by feelings of nausea and my vision becoming hazy or unclear. She left show hosts Ant and Dec both stunned and thrilled as she joined their Instagram Live following the main show.
During her recuperation process, she communicated with the pair using a message that said, “Hello all! I’m still around,” accompanied by a laughter emoticon. This was met with applause in the I’m A Celebrity studio, as reported by The Mirror.
Excitedly, Dec exclaimed: “Look who’s here! It’s Davina McCall!” Then, Ant added his well-wishes: “I hope you’re doing great. Sending you a heap of love from the jungle.
