Strictly Come Dancing fans call for It Takes Two presenter to be sacked after replaced with Fleur East after watching her emotional interview with Jamie Borthwick
As a longtime admirer of Strictly Come Dancing and a seasoned observer of its spin-offs, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by the outpouring of support for Jamie Borthwick following his elimination from the show. The passion and enthusiasm displayed by fans in defense of their favorite dancers is truly heartwarming.
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing have strongly criticized the host of the spin-off show, with some calling for her removal from the position.
Viewers expressed their frustration following the airing of Monday night’s It Takes Two, where Fleur East conducted an interview with Jamie Borthwick and his dance partner, Michelle Tsiakkis.
After getting eliminated during the dance-off on Sunday evening, they were asked to appear on the program.
In a heartfelt conversation, the three friends delved into Jamie’s experience on the show, his past presentations, and their close call in reaching the quarter finals. This near miss left Jamie and Michelle visibly moved.
And it was seeing the teary display on the episode which sparked fans fury.
A large number of people expressed their admiration for Fleur’s interviewing abilities on social media platforms, urging the BBC to permanently appoint her as the host of the spinoff show, replacing her current co-host, Janette Manrara.
Throughout the performance, Fleur shared a compilation video of Jamie and Michelle’s top moments from the contest, which left everyone feeling emotional.
At the end of the video, Michelle, who’d been holding back tears, finally allowed them to fall as she embraced Jamie.
Later on, Fleur remarked to Jamie, “You truly have a knack for performing on stage, don’t you?” However, her comment was cut short as the soap star interjected, inquiring whether Fleur herself was weeping.
‘Yeah, it’s got me emotional watching it back,’ Fleur responded.
And fans were in awe of Fleur and demanded that she present every week.
One fan wrote: ‘ Oh foff, can’t we have Fleur all week please?!’.
In my professional opinion, I find that Fleur is more appealing as a host for ‘It Takes Two’ compared to Janette Marara. If I were in charge, I would consider switching the presenters to make the show more engaging and enjoyable for viewers.
A third person voiced their preference for Fleur over he co-star, commenting: ‘Say it again fleur is much better on this than Janette #ItTakesTwo.’
Viewer response ensued following the show’s decision to eliminate Jamie, leaving them outraged.
In my perspective as a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself going head-to-head with Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe during a thrilling dance-off on EastEnders, ultimately leading to my elimination from the competition.
However, spectators were taken aback when they discovered that the two performers ended up in the lower two positions, and numerous viewers expressed their belief that Pete Wicks should have been the one in that predicament instead.
The results of Sunday’s show saw fans criticise the judges’ decisions to ‘constantly down-mark’ the actor.
On Saturday, the daytime TV actor excited fans when they danced a Foxtrot with their professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas to the timeless hit “Stand By Me” by Ben E King.
As a devoted admirer, I must confess that while countless spectators were dazzled by the soap star’s dance performance, unfortunately, I found myself on the receiving end of another stern critique from the judges. This time, their appraisal stirred whispers among some viewers about potential favoritism within the panel.
Despite being humble in his loss, Jamie expressed to Tess Daly: ‘Strictly Come Dancing is enchanting. That’s all I can say. Strictly Come Dancing is magic. It’s not just the people you see on camera like these judges here, but everyone who contributes to this show.’
Supporters of the series were deeply disappointed when Jamie was eliminated, expressing their dismay by saying they were “completely heartbroken” that the performer was dismissed from the program prior to the semi-finals.
Audience members expressed their frustration by turning to X, frequently suggesting that Pete Wicks should have been eliminated in his place.
It is hard to understand how Pete managed to avoid the dance-off when Montelle and Jamie seemed more deserving. This doesn’t seem fair.
Instead of saying, “‘Absolutely gutted” that Jamie left, another person expressed their disappointment, stating, “I can hardly believe Jamie was sent home! He didn’t deserve to be in the bottom two. It’s just not fair! I’ve been rooting for him each week. I admired his dancing skills and his partnership with Michelle. I hoped he would make it to the final. What a shame #strictly.’
