As a longtime film enthusiast who has spent countless hours in theaters and at home binge-watching movies, I must admit that this Home Alone house is a dream come true. Growing up, I remember watching Macaulay Culkin’s antics on the big screen, and the idea of owning a piece of cinematic history like this one is simply mind-blowing.

With Christmas approaching, there’s a heightened police presence near the house that gained fame as the setting for the original Home Alone film. This is due to concerns about fans attempting to reenact the burglary scene from the movie, which occurred shortly after the property was listed for sale and quickly changed hands.

Each holiday season, the police department of Winnetka, Illinois, headed by Deputy Chief Dylan Majcher, finds they need to increase security in the area due to the house receiving increased attention. (TMZ reported this on Tuesday.)

The deputy chief remarks that, to his surprise, the house attracts a significant number of vacationers as a tourist destination, even though the movie featuring Macaulay Culkin was released over three decades ago.

In recent decades, except for the occasional congestion due to heavy traffic, no significant problems have been reported by the law enforcement officer.

Deputy Chief Majcher revealed to the publication that the previous homeowners had never sought help, yet they were consistently vigilant in monitoring the neighborhood to ensure all was well.

The home was sold for a whopping $5.25million in June just one week after being put on the market.

Nestled on a picturesque, leafy avenue in the peaceful suburb of Winnetka, near Chicago, stands this elegant brick Georgian home. It seamlessly blends traditional grace with cinematic history.

2018 saw an expansion of the five-bedroom, six-bathroom house, all without compromising its original architectural charm and structure.

Remaining mostly untouched are the iconic entrance stairway, spacious reception hall, and formal living and dining areas, all of which are strikingly familiar from the film.

The family room boasts soaring ceilings and French doors leading to a welcoming backyard.

A stunning, high-end kitchen equipped with premium appliances and an integrated seating area (built-in banquette), perfect for hosting gatherings.

The cozy family room and a screened-in porch with a fireplace create havens for relaxation.

Functionality and opulence harmonize in this home, offering amenities such as a bathroom that seamlessly transitions to your backyard (convertible into a pool bath), two laundry areas (one on the upper level, another on the lower level), a spacious mudroom equipped with storage solutions, and a three-car garage conveniently attached.

On the upper level, you’ll find a lavish master suite featuring a soothing spa bath, and there are also three more rooms for ample comfortable accommodation.

In the movie, what was once Kevin McCallister’s room (specifically the attic) has been transformed into an enchanting junior suite for primary use, providing a tranquil retreat amidst the treetops with a relaxing soaking tub and delightful vistas of the surrounding neighborhood.

At the very bottom level, you’ll find a private fitness center, leisure area, an advanced cinema, and a well-equipped bar with running water.

A fantastic indoor basketball court, featuring a standard 3-point line, offers hours of fun and enjoyment for people of all ages.

This house offers you an opportunity not just to possess a slice of film history, but to forge fresh, personal experiences.
