As a seasoned movie-goer who has seen countless tales of corruption and deceit unfold on the silver screen, this story hits all too close to home. The arrest of Charles Wayne Wilkerson IV, aka “Franko Khalifa,” is yet another grim reminder that evil lurks in the most unexpected places.
A 28-year-old hip-hop artist was taken into custody and accused of sexually abusing two women who approached him for tattoo work, according to the LAPD. Officers suspect that additional victims may exist.

On October 29, Los Angeles-residing tattoo artist who raps under the name “Franko Khalifa,” was apprehended by the LAPD, as confirmed in a statement issued on Monday. This individual is often recognized on Instagram as “frankokhalifa” and also goes by the simpler moniker “Franko,” according to the police report.
Investigators publicly shared a photograph of Wilkerson, hoping it would motivate any other potential victims to step forward.
It is reported that Wilkerson stands accused of sexually assaulting two women aged 25, with each incident occurring independently. As stated by the LAPD, the first purported assault took place at Wilkerson’s tattoo shop in Koreatown on December 18, 2023, and the second alleged incident transpired at a residence in the city’s Southwest district on February 16 of this current year.
On November 20th, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office brought forth four felony sexual assault accusations against Wilkerson. These charges include two allegations of rape involving a person under the influence of drugs or alcohol, one charge of forced oral sex, and one charge of oral sex performed under the influence of anesthesia or controlled substances.
Wilkerson is still in police custody awaiting a preliminary hearing.
Detective Robert Smey from the LAPD, who specializes in sexual assault cases, stated, “He exploited young women who sought his tattoo services. After earning their trust, he carried out the assaults. Now that these courageous women have spoken up about their experiences, I hope others will find the strength to come forward and seek justice.
Individuals who possess details that could help find more victims or witnesses are invited to reach out to the LAPD’s Southwest Division at either (323) 290-2976 or (877) 527-3247.
