As a seasoned gamer of both the silver screen and the small one, I must admit that my heart skipped a beat upon hearing about James Norton’s latest venture – “House of Guinness”. Having grown up with the iconic beer brand as part of my Irish heritage, the idea of delving into the family behind it is nothing short of tantalizing.
James Norton gives a hint about what viewers can anticipate from his role in Steven Knight’s upcoming Netflix series, titled “House of Guinness“.
The drama unfolds in 19th-century Dublin, as well as New York, and it delves into the lives of the influential brewery dynasty’s family.
The lead actor from “Happy Valley,” whose latest British movie “Joy” is gaining popularity on streaming platforms, has been cast to portray Sean Rafferty, a character described by Norton as being “quintessentially Irish.

At a red-carpet event for the global debut of “Joy” during the BFI London Film Festival in October, the performer shared with Digital Spy that they were really enjoying themselves while filming “House of Guinness”.
As I find myself immersed in this phenomenal ensemble, it’s predominantly filled with talented Irish actors, there’s an abundance of Guinness flowing, and here I am, the solitary non-Irish member, ironically portraying the most authentically Irish character. To fit in, I need to embody the spirit of Dubliners – as Dubs as they come.
Norton added, “They’ve been extremely friendly, assisting me with my accent, and indeed, it’s all quite enjoyable.

As a devoted viewer, I’m thrilled to share that this production boasts some familiar faces. Most recently, you might have seen Jack Gleeson in “Sex Education.” Seamus O’Hara hails from the gripping crime drama “Blue Lights” on BBC, and Fionn O’Shea has graced our screens in the critically acclaimed series “Normal People.
The actor hinted that the creator of Peaky Blinders is delivering his finest work yet, adding, “He’s operating at full capacity. He’s passionate about the series and its characters.
Norton expressed his enthusiasm, mentioning that with Netflix’s support and an exceptional team of actors and filmmakers, he is genuinely thrilled about the project.
The film “Joy” has been screened in selected UK theaters and can now be streamed on Netflix. Meanwhile, the streaming date for “House of Guinness” has not been announced yet.
