As a sports enthusiast with a soft spot for soccer and a keen eye for entertainment, I am beyond excited about the upcoming Baller League! But add to that the allure of modern content creators like KSI and IShowSpeed, and you’ve got a recipe for an unforgettable spectacle!

Former soccer stars meet famous content creators in the Baller League.

2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for soccer fans like me! The Baller League, a unique soccer competition where stars like IShowSpeed, KSI mix it up with soccer greats such as Ronaldinho, Luís Figo, and John Terry, is set to kick off. With both UK and US versions of the league, this promises to be a global soccer spectacle not to be missed!

Here’s what we know about the Baller League thus far.

What is the Baller League?

In the year 2014, the Ballers League made its debut in Germany, swiftly gaining popularity among individuals searching for a fresh perspective on football.

The competition features twelve squads participating in a six-player indoor soccer game, featuring both amateur and professional soccer players, as well as celebrities. Each match consists of two 15-minute halves, with some distinct rules applied. The final three minutes of each half are particularly exciting.

In the Baller League, they employ dynamic “Gamechanger” regulations during the end of each half. These regulations can vary significantly, such as requiring teams to play with only three players on the field, doubling the value of goals scored, or issuing a red card for any player committing a foul.

If something appears familiar to you, it’s likely due to the fact that the Baller League shares certain resemblances with the Kings League, a soccer competition overseen by ex-Barcelona player Gerard Piqué. In this league, teams are run by popular content creators like Ibai and Gaules.

According to CEO Felix Starck, the purpose of the Ballers League is to transform it into something akin to the UFC in football, and to give the sport a more American feel. Essentially, it’s an initiative aimed at blending entertainment with sports in order to attract a younger demographic.

Who will play in the Baller League?

In the Ballers League, the participants get selected through a sequence of tryouts which mimic the process of American sports. This league brings together amateurs, ex-professionals, and celebrities to form teams.

Currently, at the time of my writing on November 26th, no teams have been selected yet. But, there are many individuals who have already been confirmed as participants.

Baller’s League – UK version

  • KSI
  • John Terry (Chelsea legend)
  • Luís Figo (Barcelona and Real Madrid legend)
  • Freddie Ljunberg (Arsenal legend)
  • Jens Lehmann (Arsenal Legend)
  • Robert Pires (Arsenal legend)
  • Gary Lineker (Tottenham Hotspur legend and commentator)
  • Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United legend)
  • Micah Richards (Former Manchester City player)
  • Tobjizzle
  • AngryGinge
  • Sharky
  • Miniminter

Baller’s League – US version

  • IShowSpeed
  • Ronaldinho

In this setup, IShowSpeed will hold the presidency for the United States league, while KSI will oversee the British counterpart. Currently, plans indicate that the UK version will consist of twelve teams, who will commence play with a round-robin group stage starting from March 2025. This initial phase aims to narrow down the competitors to the Final Four.

The Ballers League is set to air simultaneously on Twitch and YouTube, boasting all the potential it needs to garner high viewership. Combined, KSI and iShowSpeed have a whopping 58 million subscribers on YouTube.
