She said that even at 13, she thought: ‘Well, that’s not gonna happen. I see my future and it involves scissoring now.’

In the course of their conversation about faith, GK posed a question to Richard, asking, “Was it challenging for you, being gay, in your line of work?

Richard admitted: “Absolutely not. It never crossed my mind to worry about whether God approved or not.

‘Whether other people thought it was alright or not, well I’m happy to have that argument…’

In his own words about his sexual orientation, he stated, “I wasn’t the only one either. Occasionally, when I read ancient church records, or those from the Middle Ages, I can’t help but feel a sense of ‘so many were like me.’

As an over-the-moon fan, let me share my astonishment: In the Bush Telegraph, GK confessed, “I entered this jungle uncertain about who I’d connect with or grow close to, and if someone told me I’d find a bond with a reverend, I wouldn’t have believed it in a million years!

As a devoted admirer, I casually slipped in that I was dropping by to catch up with the lovely Ella. Or perhaps I mentioned I was spending the night at her place. Either way, it’s safe to assume her name was now etched into their minds.

Following a visit to London by her parents from Cambridge, where they encountered Grace and another individual, they inquired about the latter. Grace admitted, “Ah, she’s my partner.” Surprisingly, they have always been supportive of this relationship.

She commented: “It seems to me that the cupboard might have been made of transparent material. They’ve consistently stated that it doesn’t matter who you wind up with – male or female – what matters is that they’re not unkind.
