Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill’s new movie gets disappointing update

As a dedicated fan of Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill, I must admit this news about the delay of their upcoming movie “In The Grey” has left me feeling as blue as a Wimbledon spectator after a rain cancellation. I’ve followed Cavill’s career since his days in the Tudor court, and I can’t wait to see him back on the big screen, especially alongside his fellow Ritchie collaborators Jake Gyllenhaal and Eiza González.

Unfortunately, enthusiasts of the collaboration between Guy Ritchie and Henry Cavill will have to wait a bit longer, as the premiere of their upcoming film titled “In The Grey” has been postponed.

Initially scheduled for a release on January 17, 2025, Ritchie’s upcoming film has been withdrawn by Lionsgate since the production process is not yet finished (according to Deadline).

I’m thrilled to share that the movie, whose tantalizing trailer and captivating title were revealed at CinemaCon earlier this year, boasts not just one, but two more familiar faces from director Ritchie’s past projects. Among them are Jake Gyllenhaal, who starred alongside me in The Covenant, and Eiza González, who graced the screen with Cavill in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I can hardly wait to see these talented actors bring their A-game to this upcoming production!

Back in 2023, I got wind of an exciting new project called “In The Grey.” This is the third collaboration between Ritchie and Cavill, and it’s set to be quite a thriller! In this film, my character, one of two extraction specialists, is assigned with a mission: we’re supposed to devise a rescue plan for a top-tier negotiator.

The release date for the movie hasn’t been set yet, so it’s unclear when exactly we can expect it to be in theaters.

Currently, Cavill is keeping himself occupied by joining the cast of the upcoming live-action film “Voltron,” which will commence filming in Australia this December. As for today’s news (November 25), it has been made official that Sterling K Brown from “This Is Us,” Rita Ora, and John Kim have also joined the star-studded cast of the feature, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The filmmaker of “Red Notice,” Rawson Marshall Thurber, is set to direct a movie he co-wrote with Ellen Shanman. This script is inspired by the TV series franchise of Voltron, which is based on several Japanese anime such as “Beast King GoLion” and “Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV.

In this production, Cavill will be acting alongside Daniel Quinn-Toye, recognized for his roles in the British sitcom “Grownups” and as a stand-in for Tom Holland during “Romeo & Juliet” on the West End stage.

Outside of work-related activities, the actor formerly known for “The Witcher” revealed that 2024 was an exhilarating year for him due to a significant personal milestone: announcing the upcoming arrival of his and his partner Natalie Viscoso’s first child in April.

At the premiere of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Cavill expressed his great enthusiasm about fatherhood, stating, “Natalie and I are incredibly thrilled about it.

In The Grey’s new release date will be announced in due course.
