Clash Royale April 2026 Update: New Hero, Card Evolution, And Balloon Festival

The new season, Season 82, will arrive in Clash Royale on April 6th, and it includes lots of exciting new content.

The biggest updates include a new Hero and a feature called Card Evolution. The Balloon Hero is now a flexible unit – it can attack enemy structures and also protect itself by creating a Skeletrooper.

Okay, so the Minion Horde Evolution card is seriously awesome! It basically supercharges the Minion Horde, giving them a chance to become temporarily invincible. It takes their already strong attack to the next level, which is exactly what I was hoping for!

Season 82 will also introduce the Balloon Festival, a new event where players can complete challenges to earn a special currency. This currency can then be used to unlock both seasonal and regular items.

Summon Skeletroopers With the Hero Balloon

The Hero Balloon, similar to a standard Balloon, attacks structures and explodes when destroyed, causing damage.

The Hero Balloon also has a special ability that costs 2 Elixir called Coffin Cadets. When activated, it launches a flying Skeletrooper onto the battlefield. This troop automatically targets the nearest ground unit or building and damages it upon impact. Once it lands, the Skeletrooper continues to attack with its sword.

When no enemies are close, the Skeletrooper will fall from the Hero Balloon and start battling.

Overwhelm Opponents With the Evo Minion Horde

Okay, so I’m playing with the Minion Horde Evolution, and it has this cool ability called Horde Immunity. Basically, whenever one of my minions gets hit, it becomes temporarily untouchable and takes no damage for a few seconds. It’s awesome for keeping them alive! While it’s immune, the minion can still move and attack, but it slows down a bit – both its attack speed and how fast it moves are reduced. It’s a really handy ability for surviving tough fights.

It’s important to remember that only the minion receiving damage gains invincibility, not the entire Horde. This ability won’t activate if the Horde is defeated by a single, powerful attack like a Fireball.

The Minion Horde Evolution is the first new Card Evolution in Clash Royale since the Royal Hog Evolution was released in November 2025.

Unlock Items by Participating in the Balloon Festival

The Balloon Festival is a limited-time event that will take place during Season 82 of Clash Royale.

Throughout the festival, you can earn Balloon Tokens by participating in monthly events. Use these Tokens at the Festival Market to get cool rewards like chests, special outfits for the season, and Gems.

We don’t yet know how long the Balloon Festival will last or what the monthly challenges will be. We’ll share more details when the update for Season 82 is released.
