Hitman's 'The Disruptor' DLC and Elusive Target Have Been Removed Following Conor McGregor High Court Ruling

As a gamer with years of experience under my belt, I have always appreciated the fusion of real-life personalities and virtual worlds. However, recent events surrounding Conor McGregor have made me question the boundaries of entertainment and morality. The news about his conviction for assault and rape is truly disheartening, to say the least.

IO Interactive, the developer behind Hitman, has chosen to delete the ‘The Disruptor’ DLC featuring Conor McGregor, in compliance with a decision made by the Irish High Court. This court ruled that McGregor had allegedly assaulted and raped a woman in December 2018.

Due to the recent court decision involving Conor McGregor, the studio has chosen to end their partnership with the athlete, as of now, they shared on Twitter (as reported by Eurogamer). We are treating this matter with utmost importance and cannot overlook its consequences. As a result, we will initiate the process of removing any content related to Mr. McGregor from our online stores, starting today.

Currently, The Disruptor is no longer available for purchase from either the Microsoft Store or PlayStation Store because it has been taken down. This means that the DLC (Downloadable Content) cannot be acquired. Additionally, Conor McGregor’s character, ‘The Disruptor’, has been deleted from the game ‘Hitman World of Assassination’. Previously, McGregor provided his voice and likeness for this Elusive Target character in the game.

Earlier this month, the character known as “The Disruptor” made a comeback in the “Hitman World of Assassination”. Originally set to depart on the 8th of December, it returned ahead of schedule. The accompanying DLC provided Agent 47 with an ongoing mission to eliminate “The Disruptor’s” character, McGregor. This DLC pack also brought a new outfit, items, and cosmetics for Agent 47’s Freelancer HQ as additional perks.

Last week, an Irish court delivered its decision, stating that Conor McGregor was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a hotel in Dublin six years ago. As a consequence, the MMA fighter has been instructed to pay approximately €248,000 (£206,000) in damages. However, McGregor plans to contest this verdict by filing an appeal.
