Doctor Odyssey’s Joshua Jackson responds to wild fan theory
As a long-time fan of Joshua Jackson’s work, I must say that his latest venture into the medical drama genre with “Doctor Odyssey” has certainly piqued my interest. The intriguing plot and the unique setting of a luxury cruise ship at sea have already captured my imagination. However, it’s the wild fan theory about the show being set in some sort of purgatory that really has me hooked!
Joshua Jackson has responded to a wild fan theory about his Disney+ show Doctor Odyssey.
In a new role, Ryan Murphy’s creation – a medical drama – finds actor Jackson playing Max Bankman, a fresh physician assigned to work aboard the extravagant ocean liner named The Odyssey.
Together with ship’s nurses Phillipa Soo as Avery Morgan and Sean Teale as Tristan Silva, Dr. Max manages extraordinary and complex medical situations on the high seas, all while dealing with intricate work dynamics among colleagues.
Yet, making things even more intriguing, some viewers have proposed theories suggesting an unseen plot twist, potentially increasing complexity within the series.
In a Reddit discussion, someone proposed an idea that Dr. Max and all crew members aboard the ship might be in a state similar to purgatory, suspended between living and dying.
According to them, when the doctor and their team rescue someone, it means that individual survives. As a prelude to episode two, they compile footage showing the captain stating, “This vessel represents our dreams. Your responsibility is to ensure everyone aboard stays safe.
Six initial episodes of the series “Doctor Odyssey” can now be streamed. As season one is still being filmed, there’s no saying that an unexpected turn of events might not occur at the last minute according to Jackson.
As a passionate fan, I’d express it like this: When grilled about the fan theory, the actor hinted that he’d welcome a science-fiction storyline. To me, it seems only fitting to acknowledge our shared uncertainty, as he put it, “I guess we can both agree, we don’t know for sure.
Ryan Murphy alone seems to possess the solution to that query. Still, as an enthusiast of sci-fi, I’m all for venturing in that direction should that be our course.
Doctor Odyssey is available to watch now on Disney+.
