Fast Friends game show arrives in December just in time for the holidays (Release date and schedule)

As a die-hard fan who grew up watching Friends and still can’t get enough of it, I’m beyond excited about the upcoming game show, Fast Friends! Sure, a reunion or spin-off could be unnecessary at times, but this one seems different. It’s like the ultimate test to prove our dedication to the series, and who doesn’t want that challenge?

In September 2024, Max revealed plans for a “Friends”-themed game show titled “Fast Friends,” set to air on our screens. While some may find such shows unnecessary, I believe it’s worth giving it a try or at least considering tuning in.

At The Friends Experience: One in New York City back in October 2024, the streamer managed to capture footage swiftly, and now we have a release date to eagerly anticipate – it’s coming before the year ends! As per TVLine, Fast Friends will make its debut on Max on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Four entertaining episodes of the Friends game show are scheduled for weekly release, starting every Thursday. The grand finale is slated for release on January 9, 2025. Noted comedian and actress Whitney Cummings will host this exciting event. Here’s a breakdown of the release schedule:

  • Episode 2 – Dec. 26, 2024
  • Episode 3 – Jan. 2, 2025
  • Episode 4 – Jan. 9, 2025

As a die-hard Friends fanatic, I can hardly contain my excitement for Fast Friends! In this thrilling competition, teams like mine will go head-to-head, tackling trivia, brain-teasers, and games centered around the beloved sitcom. I’m crossing my fingers they’ll include a Lightning Round – now that would be hilarious! This show seems to be the ultimate test of who truly embodies the title of the Ultimate Friends Fan. According to the press release, the speediest team will emerge victorious. It’s unclear if there’s a cash prize or just bragging rights at stake, but I can hardly wait to find out!

Don’t forget to have a look at the contestants, as announced by Cosmopolitan! It seems there are three teams: Café Con Leche (a mother-daughter duo), It’s a Bing Thing (friends), and Team Lobster (a couple). Let’s hope they possess more trivia than Monica and Rachel to avoid losing something significant, like an apartment. Additionally, it appears that the host of this new show, Cummings, is a fan of the program, which should undoubtedly aid her in her role.

One exciting aspect of this game show lies in its filming location – the Friends Experience in NYC! This means we’ll get a chance to peek at iconic sets such as Rachel and Monica’s apartment, Joey and Chandler’s living quarters, and the well-known Central Perk. I, for one, am thrilled about it and believe it will make for an enjoyable viewing experience during the holiday season and beyond. It promises to be fantastic entertainment!
