Every role Pedro Pascal has had since breaking out on Game of Thrones

As a huge fan of Pedro Pascal’s captivating performances, I find myself constantly amazed by his versatility and dedication to each role he takes on. From the rugged Mandalorian in “The Mandalorian” to the heartbreaking Joel Miller in “The Last of Us,” Pedro has shown us time and again that he can bring any character to life with depth, emotion, and a touch of charm.

Although Pedro Pascal had been acting for years before getting the role of Prince Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, that was the part that catapulted his incredibly successful acting career. We’re not going to be talking about how traumatizing Oberyn’s death was, back when “The Mountain and the Viper” aired on HBO in 2014. Instead, we are going to take a quick look at every role Pedro Pascal has had since his Game of Thrones breakout and talk a little bit about each character.

Since the conclusion of “Game of Thrones,” Pascal has been tirelessly working at an impressive speed. His resume is quite extensive, so you might want to grab a comfortable seat, a snack, and a drink before delving into our list. The breadth of Pascal’s talent in films and television will truly astound you – let’s explore it together!

Beware! The following contains multiple spoilers, and we’ll focus solely on Pascal’s roles in movies and TV shows, excluding his famous Merge Mansion ads and his appearance in Sia’s “Fire Meet Gasoline” music video.

Graceland (2013-2014)

Initially, we find ourselves at Graceland, where Pascal took on the character of Agent Juan Badillo for eleven episodes. Interestingly enough, this portrayal hints at a future role we’ll discuss later on.

Despite being killed by Paul Briggs, the scene showcases Pascal’s knack for portraying a genuine FBI agent convincingly on multiple occasions.

The Mentalist (2014)

In the character of Agent Marcus Pike, Pascal charmed his way through a potential romantic tension storyline with co-star Robin Tunney, who portrays Teresa Lisbon.

In a new FBI position, their bond develops swiftly with Teresa, and she finds herself needing to decide whether to accompany Pike to Washington D.C. or remain with Patrick Jane. Despite Pike being an exemplary man, Teresa makes the choice to stay with Patrick.

Bloodsucking Bastards (2015)

In the movie titled “Bloodsucking Bastards,” character Pascal assumes the antagonistic role of a vampire named Max. Imagine a scenario where your ordinary workplace is inhabited by vampires – what would transpire if everyone you work with turned into bloodsuckers?

It wasn’t something we expected – the sudden transformation of Pascal from a charming companion into a ravenous predator. His combination of charm and danger left many lives in disarray as he wreaked havoc, devouring his way through an office building.

Sweets (2015)

It was challenging for me to uncover a lot of details about the subject called ‘Sweets’. However, based on what I managed to piece together, Pascal is credited as Twin Peter in the 2015 film. Other notable cast members include Femi Alao, Raul Casso, Sarita Choudhury, and Raúl Castillo.

Exposed (2015)

To put it simply, I must admit I wasn’t familiar with the TV film titled “Exposed,” which revolves around an investigative journalist. Moreover, I was unaware that Pascal was part of its cast, mainly because it never made it to television broadcast.

As a movie enthusiast, I can tell you that the film titled “Exposed” was skillfully directed by none other than Patty Jenkins. Interestingly enough, she would go on to direct Gal Gadot in the blockbuster hit “Wonder Woman 1984“. In this movie, I had the pleasure of watching Chris Pine, who portrayed Oscar Castro Vargas, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Anna Loach) on screen together.

The Great Wall (2016)

It seems that you might be overlooking Pascal’s performance in “The Great Wall.” Despite the movie being a mix of historical facts, fantasy, sci-fi, and a touch of humor, which some found confusing, Pascal and Matt Damon complemented each other exceptionally well on screen.

In simpler terms, Pascal, as a partner in crime alongside Pero Tovar, might find it challenging to grasp William Garin’s (Damon) perspective and shift in feelings. However, his portrayal strongly resembles that of Oberyn from Game of Thrones, minus the gruesome demise.

Narcos (2015-2017)

As a dedicated fan, I’ve been captivated by Pascal’s portrayal of Javier Peña for three thrilling seasons. This character, based on a real-life DEA agent, was entrusted with the daunting task of pursuing the infamous Colombian drug lord, Pablo Escobar. The enigmatic Oberyn from “Game of Thrones” paved the way, allowing Peña to stride confidently in his footsteps.

After the intense romantic encounters and rapid-fire action sequences in “Narcos,” it’s clear why Pascal’s acting career took off. From that point on, the possibilities were endless for him.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)

In the follow-up to “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” Pascal teamed up with an elite group of Hollywood stars. Blending the thrilling action of James Bond with the witty humor of Austin Powers, Pascal assumes the role of Agent Whiskey, a member of the American intelligence team alongside Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Merlin (Mark Strong).

With a rich southern drawl reminiscent of The Last of Us, adorned with a cowboy hat, firearms, and his iconic lasso, Whiskey is unapologetically flirtatious and boasts impressive combat skills. This character holds a unique spot in my heart as it was one of my initial encounters with the actor (my apologies for any confusion).

Prospect (2018)

Prior to his role as the character on the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, Pascal previously wore a distinct outfit in the movie Prospect. In this story, Pascal’s character Ezra is depicted as a less clear-cut anti-hero compared to Din (initially), transitioning from gem hunting to merely attempting to endure.

Despite partnering with Cee (Sophie Turner), Ezra manages to dodge death, but leaves viewers puzzled as they question their support for him. However, Pascal’s portrayal of Ezra stands out and is a performance that many are unaware of, yet thrilling and distinctive.

The Equalizer 2 (2018)

In the sequel “The Equalizer 2“, Denzel Washington reappears, now confronting Pascal’s character, Dave York – a former CIA operative who has transitioned into a lethal contractor.

Funnily enough, York suffers a similar fate to Oberyn Martell. If you know, you know.

If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)

In a different phrase: “If Beale Street Could Talk” poignantly portrays how one prejudiced police officer can devastate the futures of innocent individuals. Featuring performances by Kiki Layne, Stephan James, Regina King, Colman Domingo, Emily Rios, and Diego Luna, Pascal’s character, Pietro Alvarez, plays a minor role in the larger narrative context.

Overcoming the challenge of exonerating a man falsely accused of rape isn’t an easy task, even when there’s compelling evidence. However, it was through Pietro’s efforts that Sharon came face-to-face with Victoria and discovered the appalling reality about Alonzo’s unjust rape conviction.

Triple Frontier (2019)

Starring the remarkable cast of Oscar Isaac, Garrett Hedlund, Ben Affleck, and Charlie Hunnam, Pascal completes the group as Francisco “Catfish” Morales. The former US Army Delta Force operators decide to pull off a heist.

In a heart-pounding, nerve-wracking fashion filled with nonstop excitement, Pascal’s character, Francisco, leads the team in their daring mission. Despite encountering losses among them, they manage to see it through to completion, thanks to Francisco’s guidance and determination.

Motherhacker (2019)

Motherhacker is derived from a scripted podcast that revolves around a female character who falls victim to phishing. In its television adaptation, prominent actors like Carrie Coon, Alan Cumming, and Pedro Pascal take on leading roles.

Pascal stars in the series premiere, “Robocalls.”

Home Movie: The Princess Bride (2020)

momentarily, Pascal found himself amongst several renowned personalities (Rainn Wilson, David Spade, Chris Pine, Diego Luna, Angela Kinsey, J.K. Simmons, and Adam Sandler among others) while filming scenes from the iconic movie “The Princess Bride” during lockdown. These clips were later shared on Quibi, a platform that is now defunct. Interestingly enough, Pascal donned an outlandish outfit as Inigo Montoya in what might be one of his most eccentric costumes yet.

Despite its brief duration, it still managed to make me chuckle. For quite some time, Pascal has been known for his serious roles, but it’s delightful to see him lighten up and display a more playful side.

You can watch the entire film above.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

Back in the day, I found myself drawing inspiration from Nicolas Cage’s captivating portrayal in “Vampire’s Kiss” while taking on my role in “Wonder Woman 1984”. Although the film wasn’t universally loved, I believe my character, Maxwell Lord, as a complex and morally ambiguous businessman, was nothing short of brilliant.

As a movie enthusiast, I find myself drawn into the tale of an eccentric yet ardent character wielding the power of the Dreamstone. His mission, granting people their deepest desires, seems harmless enough, but it’s quickly becoming my challenge to set things right – even if that means parting ways with Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) once more.

We Can Be Heroes (2020)

Have you heard that Pascal was featured in a kid-friendly movie? Directed by Robert Rodriguez, who is famous for movies such as “Spy Kids,” “From Dusk Till Dawn,” and “Alita: Battle Angel,” comes the film titled “We Can Be Heroes“. In this production, Pascal portrays Marcus Moreno, head of the superhero group called The Heroics.

The movie mainly revolves around the offspring of superheroes, but it also showcases Pascal in dual roles – one as a devoted parent raising his daughter and another as a hero striving to protect Earth from extraterrestrial threats. This double role seems to hint at his character’s future career trajectory.

Calls (2021)

Although the TV series “Calls” was both exciting and terrifying, it ran for just one season. Pascal appeared in the episode titled “Pedro Across the Street.” I must say, the show deserves praise for its daring approach; it tells a story through phone conversations between unknown individuals, which ultimately leads to an apocalyptic event.

The tension mounts as viewers find themselves intensely focused, straining to catch every detail lest they miss something crucial. Despite appearing in only one episode, Pascal’s performance left an indelible impression on all, leading them to believe he could excel at voiceover work – a skill that will prove valuable down the line.

The Book of Boba Fett (2022)

Between seasons 2 and 3 of “The Mandalorian,” Pascal takes on the character of Din Djarin, the Mandalorian once more. He had just said goodbye to his young companion Grogu, a force-sensitive alien who was under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker at that time. The storyline for this series or prequel revolved around Boba Fett’s survival from the Sarlacc pit and his ascension to become the ruler of Mos Espa.

His job isn’t straightforward, and thus he seeks aid from Din Djarin, who is currently working to regain his Mandalorian title and prestige. Some viewers have grumbled that Din overshadows Boba Fett, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching the duo work together and deal some significant damage.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)

Let’s dive into the humor of “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent”. This comedy presents a fictional account where the struggling actor Nicholas Cage, in real life, gets invited to Javi Gutiérrez’s birthday party – a die-hard fan.

In the end, they jointly penned a movie script, with Cage grappling with the question of whether Gutiérrez was involved in the kidnapping of an anti-crime politician’s daughter. Packed with standout scenes, indelible dialogues, and side-splitting humor, this might just be my top Pascal performance to date.

House Comes with a Bird (2022)

In the 15-minute short film titled “The House with an Avian Companion,” we find Pascal portraying the eccentric and imaginative character, Nico. With his abundance of ideas and financial resources, he presents a unique perspective.

Nico represents one of the more unconventional characters that Pascal has portrayed during his acting tenure. It’s challenging to discern his true identity within the narrative, and upon dialogue delivery, it becomes evident that his character can be analyzed from various perspectives, lending depth to this profoundly emotional work of art.

The Bubble (2022)

At the outset of the COVID pandemic, it was a time filled with fear and uncertainty. The show “The Bubble” is a comedic mockumentary that exaggerates the struggles experienced by a cast while filming the fictional movie “Cliff Beasts 6: Battle for Everest – Memories of a Requiem.

In a more casual and relatable manner: Pascal portrays the eccentric, substance-dependent, yet carefree character of Dieter Bravo. His side-splitting, unforgettable scenes continue to linger in my mind.

The Last of Us (2023)

In simple terms, the actor Pascal won his first SAG Award for portraying the lead character Joel Miller in the widely acclaimed video game titled “The Last of Us.” Initially a contractor and single father trying to make ends meet, Joel is thrust into a post-apocalyptic role as a survivor. He reluctantly takes on the responsibility of escorting a foul-mouthed teenager named Ellie across a United States overrun with zombies.

However, Ellie turns out to be much more than she initially appears and eventually melts the frosty feelings of Joel, developing a strong bond resembling a surrogate father-daughter relationship between them.

In this popular HBO TV series, there’s no shortage of frightening moments. Be it the infected or other survivors ready to go to any lengths to survive, Joel and Ellie constantly face peril.

The Mandalorian (2019-2023)

Over a span of three seasons, spectators have been spellbound by “The Mandalorian”, a series that has invigorated the “Star Wars” universe with a fresh narrative set several years post-“Return of the Jedi”. The lead character, Din Djarin (played by Pascal), undergoes a transformative journey when he encounters Grogu, a small, force-sensitive alien being, during his work.

In their cosmic adventures, Din and his little companion, Grogu, vanquish villains, make new acquaintances, and deepen their mutual understanding. Despite the conclusion of the series with no fourth season, the narrative will carry on in the film titled “The Mandalorian & Grogu“, slated for release on May 22, 2026.

This is the way.

House Broken (2023)

As a die-hard animation fan, I’d like to share my thoughts on the captivating animated series “House Broken”, which ran for two enthralling seasons. In this show, the talented Pascal brought Claude, a feline character, to life. This series offers a unique perspective, focusing on pets and strays, giving us an insight into their world, much like peeking through a window into another reality.

Pascal’s character, Claude, embodies depth, creativity, and sincerity. It’s his peculiarities that make him endearing and charming.

Strange Way of Life (2023)

A killing event brings back together two old companions who used to be involved romantically. The characters, Sheriff Jake (portrayed by Ethan Hawke) and Silva (played by Pascal), reflect on their past as they ponder their shared future.

Silva hopes to rekindle a romance while Jake refuses. Their complicated past makes the present all the more heartbreaking for Silva, who you just wish would get his happy ending in the arms of his friend and lover Jake.

No matter how you view it, the outcome is heartbreaking, particularly because he opted for Jake instead of saving his own child’s life.

Freaky Tales (2024)

The movie titled “Freaky Tales” presents a blend of action and humor, weaving together four narratives that unfold against the backdrop of real-life events occurring in Oakland, California during 1987. Although I haven’t had the chance to watch it yet, its unique concept has certainly piqued my curiosity, making me eager to give it a look.

Drive-Away Dolls (2024)

In the realm of celluloid adventures, I once dipped my toes into the peculiar and fleeting character of Santos, in the eccentric flick titled “Drive-Away Dolls“. As Santos, I was a constant companion to a mysteriously locked briefcase, and my untimely demise at the film’s onset set the stage for the ensuing drama.

The intrigue of this role lies in the drastic transformation Pascal undergoes, sporting an entirely new look, including darkened glasses and sleeked-back hair.

The Uninvited (2024)

Although The Uninvited might not have been widely recognized until now, it’s crucial not to underestimate Pascal’s performance as Lucian. His role deserves recognition.

At this stage on our roster, Pascal has demonstrated an impressive versatility, capable of portraying a wide range of characters across various genres. This extends to his role as a self-assured, arrogant ladies’ man. Although I find his more endearing, humorous roles as a boyfriend, husband, or father more appealing, it is only fair to acknowledge Lucian’s talents as well.

The Wild Robot (2024)

The recently premiered animated film titled “The Wild Robot” (based on a series of books), showcases Pascal as the lovable rogue character, referred to as Fink the cunning fox.

As a devoted cinephile, I find myself cast as Unit 7134, or simply Roz – a robot stranded on an isolated woodland sanctuary. In search of purpose, I immerse myself in the local language spoken by the island’s creatures. One fateful day, my clumsy landing results in the destruction of a gosling’s nest. However, the egg miraculously survives, and after an unsuccessful attempt at consumption by Fink, I become the guardian of Brightbill – a gosling that will forever hold a special place in my circuits.

In a nutshell, Pascal the Fink in the story “The Wild Robot” exemplifies all that comes to mind when one thinks of a fox: cunning, sneaky yet unwaveringly loyal, with a dash of sarcastic humor. This character helps make the book an enjoyable read for both young and old readers alike.

Gladiator II (2024)

Last, yet no less important, we have “Gladiator II,” the sequel to the acclaimed “Gladiator.” In this role, Pascal delves into one of his most intricate and captivating characters as General Marcus Acacius.

In the story, Marcus, once a respected general in Rome’s army, is seen as the antagonist by Lucius, the main character. However, to avoid revealing any further plot points, let me say that the movie was recently released and you can find out more for yourself!

I assure you, this role promises to be among Pascal’s finest performances, not just during his career, but also among the most outstanding in Hollywood history.
