RockMan: Time Rift, Capcom’s action RPG opens pre-registrations for mobile in China
Story Highlights
- RockMan: Time Rift is the renamed Chinese version of Rockman X DiVE.
- The title change is to comply with China’s localization requirements.
- The game stays true to the iconic series with classic shooting action, Mega Man’s signature moves, and new features.
As a long-time fan of the Mega Man series, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia with the announcement of RockMan: Time Rift. Having grown up playing these iconic games, it’s heartwarming to see the continuation of the Mega Man X saga in this fresh new format.
In China, pre-registration is now available for the mobile version of “RockMan: Time Rift,” a role-playing game with action elements that was developed by Capcom. However, it appears this is actually the Chinese adaptation of the previously shut down game, “Mega Man X DiVE.” Last year, on September 27, 2023, services for Mega Man X DiVE were terminated, and an offline version was later released.
RockMan: Time Rift brings the iconic Mega Man X series to life
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Mega Man X series, this game offers a new adventure while maintaining the timeless gameplay you’re fond of. You can expect the classic side-scrolling shooting action with Mega Man’s trademark abilities like running, jumping, and using his hand cannon and lightsaber. The game also introduces contemporary elements such as 360-degree shooting and automatic aiming to enhance your gaming experience.

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to gather approximately 100 distinct Mega Man characters, all boasting impressive new visuals. The game integrates an intricate reinforcement mechanism, allowing you to boost characters and unlock additional skills as you advance. Furthermore, the game offers over 100 levels, each with its own unique hurdles to conquer.
The game formerly named Rockman X DiVE has been rebranded due to Chinese regulations. This change in title follows NebulaJoy, the developer, disclosing the new branding as a requirement for localization to secure China’s approval. If you have already played the global version, there is no need to play this one.

Players residing in China are now able to sign up for the game on this platform. As of now, a release date within the region has not been set, so keep an eye on the official site for any upcoming announcements regarding the launch.
