Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo recently revealed the nursery in their London home, worth £12 million, describing it as a peaceful room for their son, Ziggy.
After welcoming their first child, the couple recently renovated their home and designed a peaceful bedroom for their little one. They’re sharing a look at their lives as new parents with their new TV show, which premiered this week.
The nursery continues the warm, Scandinavian style found throughout the West London townhouse, featuring a calming palette of neutral colors, eye-catching gingham wallpaper, and cozy textiles.
The peaceful and comfortable attic room is decorated with items from Mamas & Papas, including a cotbed and changing table set worth over £1,000.
The new parents are looking to their own childhoods for ideas. Jamie, age 37, chose a green striped rocking horse for his son because he had one just like it when he was a child.
Sophie, 31, used a cloud mobile hanging above the cot to inspire the calm vibes of the room.
The couple said setting up the nursery was a really meaningful experience. They wanted a room that was both lovely to look at and useful, and they feel they’ve achieved that with everything they’ve chosen – it feels just right.
Preparing for our baby, Ziggy, involved a lot of choices, but the ‘Buying for Baby’ appointment really helped us feel more relaxed and confident in our decisions.
Jamie and Sophie’s new show, Raising Chelsea, premiered on April 2nd. The series follows the couple as they race to complete renovations on their house before their first baby arrives.
This three-episode series documents the experiences of former Made In Chelsea stars as they adjust to life with new babies.
This story follows Sophie and Jamie through their journey from the beginning of their pregnancy, through labor, and finally to meeting their son, Ziggy, who is now almost four months old.
The first episode largely focuses on the renovation of the £4.1 million house the couple bought before their baby was born.
Jamie and Sophie’s home is now valued at around £12 million after extensive renovations, and viewers will get a tour of every room on their new show.
Jamie, a new father, has witnessed the property’s transformation throughout the entire renovation process. He also jokingly mentions the high cost, attributing it to Sophie’s luxurious preferences.
Just before meeting with the architects to finalize plans, the couple revealed they’d spent a staggering £44,000 on a marble floor for the downstairs area of their home.
Jamie shared that if he were choosing, he’d prefer a cozy space with wood and stone, and maybe even a golf simulator. However, he acknowledged that Sophie now has a different vision for the space.
He continued, explaining to the builders that she always chose the priciest options. He joked that whenever she said she liked something, it was clearly the most expensive item available.
Jack, I was shocked by the price of the marble – they quoted £44,000! It gave me a real scare, and it’s just completely unaffordable. We can’t possibly go ahead with it.
You’re constantly dealing with unexpected expenses, and the promised financial plans keep changing. They give you a deadline, but it’s always delayed.
Jamie strongly urged Sophie to enjoy their surroundings, emphasizing how much they were investing in it. Sophie responded, accusing Jamie of constantly focusing on the financial aspect, which she found humiliating.
The former reality star built his fortune through various businesses, most notably by co-founding the candy company Candy Kittens in 2012.
His family history includes a connection to the creation of Digestive biscuits and the founding of the McVitie’s company, thanks to his ancestor, Alexander Grant.
Jamie has appeared on several popular TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Gogglebox, and The Great British Bake Off.
He co-hosts the popular podcast NearlyParents with his wife, Sophie, and the show attracts major sponsors like the cosmetics company Max Factor.
