New season of Netflix’s Monster teased after Menendez Story success

As a gamer with a keen interest in true crime and a soft spot for well-crafted anthology series, I eagerly await the third season of Netflix’s Monster. Having delved deep into the chilling tales of Lyle and Erik Menéndez and Jeffrey Dahmer, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming story of Ed Gein – a man whose life seems to have been a horror game level designed by a masterful storyteller.

The next season of Netflix anthology series Monster has been teased in new filming pictures.

After the triumph of the true crime show’s second installment, featuring the Menéndez brothers (Lyle and Erik), the forthcoming third season will zero in on notorious serial killer Ed Gein, portrayed by Charlie Hunnam.

Here’s my take: I recently stumbled upon some exclusive backstage photos from filming in LA (check out The Sun for details). Guess who’s there? None other than Charlie Hunnam, decked out as his Sons of Anarchy character, complete with a fresh crop and gel job, and rocking a bold red plaid jacket.

In the 1950s, I found myself being known as the ‘Butcher of Plainfield’ – a chilling title indeed. I admitted to the brutal murders of Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden, which sent shockwaves through our community. It was also uncovered that I had the disturbing habit of digging up bodies from a nearby cemetery in Wisconsin.

Originally deemed unable to face trial, he was later convicted for the murder of Worden in 1968, yet deemed legally insane. There were also suspicions that he had taken other lives.

As well as Hunnam, the new season will star The Big Bang Theory‘s Laurie Metcalf as Gein’s mother.

Actor Tom Hollander from “The White Lotus” is set to play the role of Alfred Hitchcock. Actress Olivia Williams, known for her work on “The Crown,” will take on the part of his wife Alma in the production. It’s said that Anthony Perkins, who portrayed Norman Bates, was inspired by Ed Gein when working on Hitchcock’s film “Psycho.

The tale centered around Lyle and Erik Menendez, titled “Monsters: The Menendez Brothers’ Story,” made its premiere in September, delving into the chilling account of the brothers’ homicide of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez.

Nevertheless, the depicted season sparked debate and was criticized as an “inaccurate representation” by the actual Erik. Yet, co-creator Ryan Murphy has later justified the series.

Currently streaming on Netflix, you’ll find “Monstrosities: The Tale of Lyle and Erik Menendez” and the initial season of “The Jeffrey Dahmer Chronicles.
