Strictly Christmas Special full line up is Racing driver completes star-studded group for the festive edition of the dancing show
As a longtime fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I am absolutely thrilled to see such a diverse and talented lineup for this year’s Christmas special! From Josh Widdicombe, who has proven his comedic prowess on various shows, to Vogue Williams, who has graced the Australian version of Strictly before, it seems we are in for a treat.
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special is back.
As the Ballroom gets turned into a captivating winter marvel once more, it’s time to unveil the last famous face hidden behind the doors of this year’s advent calendar!
On Strictly Come Dancing, airing on BBC Two and iPlayer on Wednesday evening, it was revealed that Billy Monger is the last celebrity to be added to the Christmas special lineup of 2024.
He will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova.
Billy, both a racing driver and television host, has achieved podium finishes in British Formula 3 and mirrored Lewis Hamilton’s success by clinching the victory at the Pau Grand Prix in European Formula 3.
In a high-speed crash during a Formula 4 race, he sustained severe injuries that ultimately required the amputation of both his legs.
Regardless, Billy persisted in pursuing his racing ambitions, advocating for the opportunity for both able-bodied and disabled racers to compete together.
Billy was honored with the BBC Sports Personality Helen Rollason Award, and there was a BBC documentary about him that earned a BAFTA nomination. Beyond this, Billy serves as both a host and analyst for Channel 4’s broadcasts of Formula One racing and the Paralympic Games.
He recently beat the world record for a double amputee in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii – the toughest endurance event in the world – a BBC documentary on this is being made.
Billy Monger said: ‘I’ve spent the last 12 months training 20 hours a week for an Ironman world record attempt, but the thought of donning sequins in front of Craig Revel Horwood fills me with a fear I’ve never experienced before.
This task is way outside my usual comfort boundaries! Since my family are avid fans of Strictly Come Dancing, I’ve decided to take part in it, not only for their support but also to generate interest for the work I’ll be involved with during Comic Relief next year.
‘I’m just hoping my leg doesn’t fall off mid-dance!’
As a lifestyle aficionado, let me share some exciting news! This holiday season, I’ll be participating in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. Six of us will take to the dance floor, each showcasing a lively routine filled with festive spirit. Our aim? To captivate the esteemed judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Head Judge Shirley Ballas, as well as the cheering studio audience, who will also have a say in the voting process. It’s a dance-off like no other, so keep an eye on your screens this holiday season!
But who will emerge the Christmas star of the evening, and lift the sought after Christmas trophy?
On Wednesday Tamzin Outhwaite was the fifth celebrity to join the line-up.
On Christmas Day, the show will feature the fifth-to-last star to be unveiled from the cast of EastEnders, who is 54 years old and an actress.
Tamzin and Billy team up with Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (known for his role in Gladiator), entertainer Tayce, humorist Josh Widdicombe, and Vogue Williams on the program.
In a new pairing, Tamzin, known for her role as DCI Sasha Miller on BBC’s New Tricks, will be teamed up with Strictly Come Dancing professional, Nikita Kuzmin.
Tamzin expressed her eagerness: “I can’t wait to trade the stage for the dance floor of Strictly Ballroom this coming Christmas! While I’m accustomed to performing before a live crowd, this is an entirely fresh adventure.
I’m really looking forward to diving deep into everything sparkly and shimmery, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the judges will sprinkle a little bit of extra holiday spirit on Nikita and me this Christmas!
On the program It Takes Two on Monday evening, it was revealed that Harry (also known as Nitro) will be participating in the 2024 lineup, partnering with professional dancer Nancy Xu.
Harry proudly showcases an impressive collection of athletic accomplishments, such as representing Team GB as both a Commonwealth and World champion sprinter.
Since his young days, this athlete has been competing at the top tier in the United Kingdom. Over time, he has achieved four gold medals in the men’s 100m European Championships and at the Commonwealth Games.

Following last Monday, Josh playfully hinted that his involvement could potentially spoil Christmas for all, whereas Tayce admitted feeling privileged as the first drag artist to start dancing on Strictly.
