NASCAR: Bubba Wallace, Tyler Reddick get new teammate for 2025

As a seasoned gamer of NASCAR races, I can hardly contain my excitement as Riley Herbst joins 23XI Racing for the 2025 season! Having followed his career since his Xfinity Series days and witnessing his impressive performances, it’s a thrill to see him stepping up to the big leagues.

23XI Racing’s specific status as either a chartered or non-chartered team for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series isn’t fully clear yet, but what is certain is that they will be growing their fleet from two to three vehicles for the upcoming season.

2025 looks promising for me, Riley Herbst, as I’m all geared up to hop behind the wheel of Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan’s third car! There’s been a lot of buzz about my potential move, but now it seems like it’s really happening. Can’t wait to team up with Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick next season!

The third vehicle will be brought on board due to an arrangement the team struck with Stewart-Haas Racing for purchasing one of their three licenses. However, the future of the team’s licenses continues to be uncertain as a result of the ongoing legal disputes following their choice not to accept the new charter agreement.

Riley Herbst joins 23XI

Over the past five years, Herbst raced full-time in the Xfinity Series, with the last four being under Stewart-Haas Racing. His career achieved a peak in 2024, where he clinched two victories and ended up seventh in the championship rankings. Additionally, he participated in certain Cup Series events for Rick Ware Racing and Front Row Motorsports during the past two seasons.

23XI Racing has occasionally added a third vehicle for specific races, which is either the #67 Toyota or the #50 Toyota. The #67 was employed in 2023, as their other two car numbers are #23 and #45, while the #50 was utilized in 2024 to celebrate Mobil 1’s 50th anniversary as a sponsor.

However, in the year 2025, Herbst will pilot the No. 35 Toyota. The team chose this number by combining elements from their original choices: the 3 from number 23 and the 5 from number 45.

Monster Energy, who’s been a longtime partner of Herbst, plans to take on the role of principal sponsor for the No. 35 Toyota in 2025. This energy drink brand has maintained a partnership with 23XI Racing since they brought Kurt Busch aboard in 2022. Afterward, they continued their support when Reddick took over the No. 45 Toyota.

As a gamer who’s been on this team since we debuted in the Cup Series back in 2021, I’m all set to get back in the driver’s seat for my fifth thrilling season with the number 23 Toyota. Meanwhile, it’s my third year at the helm of the No. 45 Toyota, and I can hardly wait!

In 2025, the 67th edition of the Daytona 500 will kick off the NASCAR Cup Series season on February 16th Sunday. Interestingly, Herbst has previously raced in this event twice. Fox will be broadcasting live from the Daytona International Speedway, starting at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
