Brendan Fevola texts family goodbye during mid-air emergency: 'I think I'm going to die'

As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in personal growth and crisis management, I can empathize deeply with Brendan Fevola’s harrowing mid-air emergency experience. His bravery in communicating his love to his family during such a terrifying moment underscores the importance of prioritizing our relationships even in the most challenging situations.

Brendan Fevola reminisced about the terrifying instant when he messaged his loved ones with a farewell message, during an unexpected crisis in the air on a flight.

In a chilling account, the popular Melbourne radio personality, aged 43, shared his harrowing experience aboard a flight to Sydney, as it seemed there was a problem with the aircraft during its approach for landing.

On Wednesday’s episode of The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick show, Brendan shared a terrifying experience that left him believing he might not survive.

He shared a touching message with his four daughters – Mia (age 24), Leni (17), Lulu (14), and Tobi (6) whom he co-parents with Alex Cheatham – as he was worried about a potential serious situation.

He explained to the audience that he had previously sent a message to his children, expressing his concern that something might happen to him.

The ex-AFL player expressed worry when his initial effort to land the plane abruptly stopped.

‘All of a sudden, the plane went back up again and started shaking,’ he explained.

I exclaimed, ‘Oh, no!’ as it climbed again, seeming quite near the ground. For a moment, it seemed to pause, perhaps even hovering slightly. Then, unexpectedly, the engine shut off.

Brendan said there was one particularly terrifying moment during the landing when he thought the plane ‘stopped going’.

As I turned my gaze towards the woman beside me, I found myself asking, “What seems to be the situation here?” We ascended, then descended, only to repeat this pattern once more, as he concluded by saying.

I told my children, “I’m currently on a plane. We’ve attempted to land twice but had to go back up. I’m feeling a bit anxious right now. Just wanted to send a quick message to let you know I love you all,” followed by heart emoticons.

The former Carlton Football Club champion admitted he was drinking wine during the mid-air crisis.

He jokingly commented, ‘This part is likely the most disheartening since I was enjoying a fine glass of Pinot Noir, but when you descend, they don’t allow you to hold the glass, so I had to drink from a paper cup.’

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share an amusing predicament: “Contemplating the idea, ‘Am I really savoring this red wine from a disposable cup?’ The question arises: Should I down it quickly or hold off until our landing and then enjoy it?

‘This was what was going through my head. Anyway, then we landed.’

Brendan mentioned that the pilot informed the passengers later on that the issue with landing arose as they were approaching at a speed that was too high for the existing tailwinds.

In 2005, I tied the knot with makeup artistry whiz, Alex, and since then, we’ve been blessed with three beautiful kids of our own. Additionally, I had the privilege of adopting Mia, who is Alex’s child from her past relationship. Together, we form a loving family that cherishes each moment spent together.

In 2014, the couple went through a divorce, but their split didn’t last long; they reconciled later in the same year, and they got re-engaged in 2016.

In 2016, when Brendan won the Australian version of “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”, he proposed to Alex for the second time in front of their kids who were present.
