As a lifelong fan of the Alien franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming FX series, Alien: Earth! With over 4 decades of being terrified and captivated by these terrifying creatures, it’s safe to say that this summer of 2025 release date feels like an eternity away. But hey, at least we have Alien: Romulus coming to Hulu in November 2024 to help tide us over!
As 2024 draws to a close, FX is gearing up for the debut of one of its forthcoming productions – the eagerly awaited sci-fi horror series titled “Alien: Earth“. A heart-pounding new sneak peek of the show has been unveiled. Despite being only 42 seconds long, this teaser offers a spine-tingling preview of the terrifying Xenomorph, a creature that will be instantly familiar to fans of the “Alien” franchise. The teaser for the upcoming series tantalizes fans with a glimpse of what’s ahead, and it also hints at a summer 2025 debut. Although an exact release date hasn’t been announced, we can expect it to fall within the range of June 20, 2025, to Sept. 22, 2025. Fingers crossed for an early summer premiere in either June or July. I’m not alone in my anticipation for this new series, given that I recently watched the latest addition to the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus.
Noah Hawley (known for Fargo and Legion) has crafted the series titled “Alien: Earth”. It is rooted in the Alien franchise and functions as a prequel to the original 1979 film. The narrative unfolds in the year 2120, where we join a young woman and a group of seasoned soldiers who accidentally uncover a startling secret within a baffling spacecraft that crash-lands on our planet. What awaits them? They encounter Earth’s gravest danger: the lethal Xenomorph alien species.
Sydney Chandler (known for her roles in “Sugar” and “Don’t Worry Darling”) takes on the main character, Wendy, who heads a team of strategic soldiers. The star-studded cast includes Alex Lawther, Timothy Olyphant, Essie Davis, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, David Rysdahl, Adrian Edmondson, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diem Camille, and Moe Bar-El.
