As someone who has closely followed Tulisa Contostavlos‘ career for years, I find her journey to be nothing short of inspiring. Her experiences, particularly those related to her family and N-Dubz, truly resonate with me.

Tulisa Contostavlos disclosed that she received only £50 as payment when she joined N-Dubz, and she almost left the band right on the cusp of their breakthrough success.

It was Byron, a previous member of Mungo Jerry and uncle to Tulisa’s cousin Dappy, who played a significant role in launching the career of N-Dubz.

Byron – who Tulisa calls Uncle B – died in April 2007 of a heart attack in his family home.

Later on, they honored him by titling their first album released in 2008 as “Uncle B” and composing one of the main songs, titled “Papa Can You Hear Me,” in his memory.

On her arm, Tulisa sports a tattoo that honors her late uncle, B N Dubz, with an image of a microphone and musical notes accompanied by the words, ‘Rest in Peace, Uncle B N Dubz, Forever Loved.’

Dappy has the words RIP Dad etched into his neck as a lasting testament to his father.

In an interview with The Guardian, Dappy shared that he attempted, but unfortunately couldn’t revive his father following a heart attack.

He expressed: ‘When he passed away, I was alone. For 18 years, he had been both my mentor and closest companion. To me, he wasn’t just “Dad”, but rather B – a name that symbolized his dual role as father and best friend. When he died, I felt lost.’

Tulisa rose to prominence as a member of the R&B band that included her cousin, Dappy, and his close friend, Fazer.

At the age of 17, Tulisa, who had joined the group at 11, admitted that she considered quitting the band before they achieved fame.

This past X Factor judge, returning to TV via I’m A Celebrity this season, found herself near the campfire where she shared personal stories with her fellow camp members, adjusting to their jungle existence.

When Oti enquired about the meaning behind N-Dubz from Tulisa, the X Factor celebrity clarified that it stemmed from the postal code for Northwest London.

Oti quipped: ‘I’m N-Dubz!’

In simpler terms, Tulisa shared that Dappy initially aspired for a solo career, but his father, Uncle B, suggested they form a group instead.

She said: ‘My uncle offered me 20 quid and then I bartered him up to 50.’

When Alan Halsall praised her for staying with the team, Tulisa confessed, “At that time when we succeeded, I was really at a point where I felt like giving up.

She added: ‘It just goes to show in all situations, hang on in there guys.’

It comes after Tulisa revealed that she had a different name when she was younger.

Prior to her appearance on I’m A Celebrity, Tulisa was known by a different nickname. Upon her return to television, she disclosed the explanation behind that name change.

On the “So Wrong it’s Right” podcast hosted by Olivia Attwood, she humorously questioned: “Is Tulisa your real name or just a nickname?

And Tulisa admitted that it was first time anyone had ever asked her about her real name.

The previous X Factor judge responded: ‘Not at all, you’re the first to mention that. I find it delightful.’

The singer revealed that her real name was in fact Tula.

She shared the reason for her name, saying, “I’m named after my grandmother, who goes by Tula. Interestingly enough, ‘Tulisa’ means ‘little Tula’ in Greek, so that became my nickname as I grew up.

Later on, Tulisa disclosed an interesting fact: The way ‘Tulisa’ is pronounced in Greek and in Britain vary significantly. Olivia pointed out this difference by saying, “We often mispronounce it.
