Married at First Sight star Ryan Gallagher reveals gruesome work injury: ‘New trendy foot piercing’
As someone who has followed Ryan Gallagher’s journey since his days on Married At First Sight, I must say that the man knows how to handle adversity with grace and humor. From ankle grinders to drill bits, this guy just can’t catch a break at work! But hey, if anyone can turn a bloodied foot into a trendy piercing joke, it’s Ryan.
Star of “Married At First Sight,” Ryan Gallagher, will have to hobble around for a while following a serious work-related injury he recently suffered.
On Tuesday, the 36-year-old posted a disturbing image on his Instagram story, depicting his bloodied foot, wrapped in tatters under a torn black sock.
Upon a careful examination, a tiny puncture wound is discovered at the bottom of his right middle toe, inflicted by an accidentally-misdirected drill bit.
Ryan seemed to handle his injury with humour, joking about the incident to his 205,000 followers.
‘New trendy foot piercing at work today,’ he quipped.
In addition, the TV personality utilized the moment to impart a useful tip about operating a drill effectively.
Ryan noted, ‘Avoid hammering steel into the back of your work boot past the steel toe,’ as one might not expect.
‘The drill bit made that hole in my sock too!.’

This year, Ryan has experienced quite a few injuries, among them being a significant one he suffered from an ankle grinding incident in January.
He shared two photos of his hand jaggedly cut open and bleeding profusely on while explaining the mishap.
Ryan expressed gratitude to all the staff at RBWH for being exceptionally kind during the past week. He mentioned that he encountered some difficulties while working on his car with an angle grinder.
My left hand, along with the tendons and index finger, were surgically reconstructed, while the tip of my injured finger was reattached and about half of my fingernail was restored.
Playfully, Ryan expressed gratitude towards his one-year-old son, Sampson, and his Olympic swimming partner, Emily Seebohm, for looking after him so well.
He mentioned, “Right now, Sampson is being cleaned up by Sam. I find Emily and her whole family incredibly powerful, and I’m truly grateful they’re handling some things that I can’t do for Sampson temporarily.
In September 2023, the ex-reality TV personality Emily, who is also an Olympic swimmer, gave birth to a son named Sampson Ryan.
That particular month, Ryan subtly updated his public Facebook profile picture to display a photograph showcasing him, Emily, and their newly-arrived baby boy.
They declared their engagement in March of the previous year, following their meeting on the Channel Ten reality show “The Challenge” back in 2022.
However, they opted to keep their engagement under wraps until March.
Emily shared with the Daily Telegraph, “What we truly desired was to reside in a secluded sanctuary, a place where ourselves and our loved ones could dwell.
Ryan suggested to her, standing beside a dam located on his farm close to the town of Goulburn, New South Wales (NSW), with an engagement ring featuring three diamonds from the local jeweler, Zantis Jewellers in Goulburn.
In a conversation with Stellar last February, Emily shared that she and her partner had no immediate plans for marriage, yet they might decide to get married impulsively anytime.
Emily mentioned, “At times, it seems as if we discuss the idea of running away to get married or simply going to the local town hall to tie the knot quickly.
“Given that weddings aren’t as costly or time-consuming to organize, we likely would have had one by now. Perhaps our post-Paris [Olympics] schedule has been a factor.
In the fifth season of Married At First Sight, Ryan gained notoriety as his partner, the contentious figure Davina Rankin, was featured prominently in the show.
In the series, it was depicted that Davina was involved romantically with Dean Wells, who was partnered with Tracey Jewell.
Among MAFS viewers, she faced intense criticism, while Ryan quickly gained favor and earned sympathy from fans.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Emily, who first competed in the Olympics at just 16 years old during the 2008 Beijing Games, did not manage to secure a spot in the 100m and 200m backstroke events.
