I’m A Celebrity’s Danny Jones is the first in the jungle shower as he strips down to a pair of white swimming shorts to brave the ice cold water
As a die-hard fan of McFly since their inception, I must say that watching Danny Jones on I’m A Celebrity has been an absolute rollercoaster ride! From facing his fears with the snakes to braving the icy cold shower, he’s shown courage and resilience that’s truly inspiring.
On Monday evening, Danny Jones immersed himself fully in jungle existence and faced the initial frigid shower of the 2024 I’m A Celebrity edition.
38-year-old actor from the McFly band was spotted wearing just a pair of white swim trunks, revealing his well-defined abdominal muscles.
The bare-chested celebrity appeared completely startled by the icy chill of the water, his yell echoing loudly enough for everyone at the campsite to hear it.
Following the scream, Melvin Odoom admitted: ‘It’s making me quite nervous about mine later on.’
In the initial episode of I’m A Celebrity, which aired on Sunday evening, an incident occurred where something followed a snake that had climbed into Danny’s pants.
During the Mausoleum of Misery trial, the singer had an unexpected encounter with a reptile that caused him to quickly undo his pants, and this happened alongside ex-boxer Barry McGuigan.
The duo found themselves in separate rooms, each holding the potential for five keys to win, fastened by locks. Inside these rooms lay floor tiles, hinting at the codes needed to open each of the five locks.
As the claxon blared, Danny and Barry initiated the test, but they weren’t the only ones present in the room, for they were accompanied by 15 snakes each.
While Danny swiftly gathered stars, Barry seemed to have difficulty, for it was too dark for him to spot the numbers.
Midway through the trial, Danny revealed: ‘I’ve got a snake up my shorts!’
Prompting host Dec to joke: ‘That is what’s known here as a trouser snake’.
At the end of the trial, Danny got all 5 stars while Barry collected none.
Danny then asked: ‘Can you get it out of my shorts!’
In a surprising sight, Danny was caught in the act of opening his shorts, exposing the spot where a massive snake had taken refuge. Consequently, a professional wildlife caretaker was summoned to extract the reptile securely.
Danny is currently leading as the preferred contestant on ITV’s show, with many bettors anticipating him to win this year’s title of “King of the Jungle.” The odds are currently at 2:1 in his favor.
When asked why he thought that was, Danny beamed and shouted: ‘Because McFly fans are awesome.’
In my perspective, the charisma and appeal of the noughties pop group is strongly suspected to secure victory in this year’s I’m A Celebrity, given the surge in his fanbase following his role as a mentor on their hit talent show, The Voice.
The star power that comes with being a member of McFly should not be underestimated with tried and tested magic to help Danny beat the likes of super WAG Coleen Rooney and N-Dubz’s Tulisa.
Danny, together with Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter, and Tom Fletcher, formed their band in 2003 as a spin-off from the band Busted, which was in the middle of disbanding at that time.
Now, due to the unwavering loyalty of their massive fanbase, primarily women aged between their late twenties and early thirties, they have found the perfect voting demographic for their jungle favorite.
An ITV source told TopMob: ‘Danny is a golden ticket of a signing for I’m A Celebrity.
He’s been outstanding as a judge on The Voice, leaving everyone impressed. He stands out as an exceptional mentor, radiating the vibe of a champion, and it goes without saying that he’s adored by the fans.
Indeed, there is already evidence. Dougie was crowned jungle king in 2011, while Tom’s wife, the influencer Giovanna Fletcher won in 2020.
In addition, Harry also emerged victorious in the Strictly Cone Dancing competition back in 2011. According to sources within the BBC, his win was overwhelming, even earning him the phrase, “it was by a significant margin.” They acknowledged the tremendous support shown by McFly fans during the competition.
In the year 2006, Matt Willis, who is part of the band Busted, emerged victorious on that particular show. Afterward, McFly and Busted joined forces to establish a new group called McBusted.
This year, if Danny wins the main ITV competition, it will be his third success in a row. He’s already claimed victory on The Masked Singer and secured a position as a judge on The Voice.
‘I’m going for the Pep Guardiola,’ the father-of-one joked.
Given that Danny’s chances of winning I’m A Celebrity are at 2-1, he exclaimed, “Go for it, Jonsey!” upon discovering that the public is already rooting for him.
He jokingly added: ‘I would definitely put all of your mortgage on me.’
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues on Monday at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX
