As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in media and entertainment, I have witnessed the dynamic duo Ant and Dec rise to become the beloved faces of British television. Their charm, wit, and undeniable chemistry have made them an integral part of our cultural landscape, particularly with their long-running stint on “I’m A Celebrity.

For over two decades, Ant and Dec have played a crucial role in “I’m A Celebrity,” and fans have expressed their strong attachment to the program by warning they might stop watching if the cheerful duo from the North East ever depart.

But the nation’s favourite double act have found themselves an enemy in Extinction Rebellion.

Presently, there’s apprehension among insiders that the duo might find themselves at the receiving end of the aggressive demonstrations commonly associated with climate change advocates.

Extinction Rebellion advocated that Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who are both 49 years old, should be removed from their ITV program due to their business relationships with Santander Bank.

On Sunday night, the climate activist group wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘Ironic that Ant and Dec are on ITV again in the Jungle, while they’re the face of Santander bank, a massive financier of deforestation and destruction in the Amazon Jungle… Ant and Dec get them out of there.’

The statement was written on the group’s South London X page, XR Balham, during Sunday night’s launch show.

Extinction Rebellion has a strong presence in Australia.

Similar to the UK, the nation has faced escalating demonstrations led by this group’s followers, with incidents such as reportedly disrupting traffic on Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge, invading the Parliament’s lower house (House of Representatives), and even gluing their hands to Picasso’s ‘Massacre in Korea’ at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Ant and Dec, serving as bank ambassadors since 2019, haven’t shied away from public scrutiny over their association with Santander on multiple occasions.

A platform called Make Money Matter wrote: ‘As Ant and Dec head into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity, the destruction of the world’s forests and wildlife is being paid for by their mates at Santander.

2021 has brought extraordinary instances of heatwaves, wildfires, and floods, coinciding with Santander’s increased investment in fossil fuels and its role as a significant backer for industries that pose risks to forests.

‘Instead of admitting its role in environmental degradation, Santander employs Ant and Dec for a public relations facade. Perhaps it’s high time for the Bank of Antandec to close down operations and sever ties with Santander.’

Last month the pair appeared in Santander’s latest ad for its Open Academy which raises awareness of the free online learning platform.

In the advertisement, Ant and Dec act as the make-believe executives of Bank of Ant & Dec, who get trapped inside a safe while trying to protect their assets upon learning about Santander’s fresh idea. However, they somehow misplace the key to the safe.

Santander ranks second among European financial institutions, frequently providing loans to major Brazilian beef exporters who are associated with deforestation activities.

TopMob have contacted ITV, Santander and Ant and Dec’s representatives for a comment.

Last week, the hosts humorously hinted at requiring additional time off in their TikTok video, causing quite a stir among their audience and leaving them in fits of laughter.

The Geordie pair, temporarily in Australia for I’m A Celeb, decided to join the current social media craze by creating a unique version of the Camera Flip Challenge.

The task requires individuals to provide guidance tailored towards their specific group, unintentionally exposing themselves as the intended audience for the advice.

During their segment, Ant and Dec didn’t skimp on effort, with the camera panning towards the trees, the caption read: “Given how much Ant & Dec put into I’m A Celebrity this year, it’s only fair they get extra days off to enjoy a round of golf.

Initially, the camera angle changed, unveiling that the TV pair were actually operating the camera. They stood there, looking at one another with a mix of surprise and discomfort.
