Ubisoft Clarifies Assassin's Creed Shadows Battle Pass and Animus Hub Rumours

As a seasoned Assassin’s Creed fan with over two decades of gameplay under my belt, I must admit that the latest news about Assassin’s Creed Shadows and its battle pass has piqued my curiosity. After years of immersing myself in this captivating universe, I’ve grown accustomed to the thrill of exploration, the intrigue of historical lore, and the exhilaration of assassinating targets. The prospect of a battle pass, especially one that Ubisoft assures will be free, seems like an interesting twist in the series.

Last week, images suggesting that “Assassin’s Creed Shadow” is potentially introducing a battle pass emerged. This feature will be unveiled through the series’ revamped platform, now known as the Animus Hub – previously called “Assassin’s Creed Infinity.” The leak raised concerns among some gamers that the battle pass could be a method for extracting additional funds from players.

Ubisoft has taken steps to clarify the details of their battle pass, addressing what they refer to as misleading rumors about the pass and the Animus Hub. In a post on Reddit, Ubisoft confirmed that all rewards offered within the Animus Hub will be completely free. They also emphasized that there are no paid subscriptions or premium battle passes associated with the Animus Hub.

Beyond this, players can enjoy “free content and missions” as part of the package, and Ubisoft has promised to reveal additional details on the Animus Hub and Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ battle pass closer to the game’s release in February 2025. This means we’ll likely gain insights into what the battle pass might offer, such as cosmetic items, weapons, characters, and more.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 14th February 2025.
