Wicked: Why Fiyero will always be at home with Bridgerton

As a die-hard fan who’s been following Jonathan Bailey’s career since his days on “Bridgerton,” I can confidently say that this man is nothing short of magical! His charm, wit, and undeniable talent have captured the hearts of millions, and his role in “Wicked” only cements that fact.

In this year’s most eagerly awaited film, “Wicked,” Jonathan Bailey plays the sweetest character. One of the female leads finds him flawless like herself, while the other acknowledges that “he might be the dreamy guy, but I’m not the dreamy girl.” Given his past in fictional romance as seen in “Bridgerton,” let’s see what he has to share about himself.

“Reuniting with the family next week”

In a recent conversation with Seth Meyers on Late Night, Bailey spoke about his continued role as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in the Hollywood Reporter-discussed series. He expressed his delight at being part of the show, referring to it as an “amazing experience.” Furthermore, he mentioned that returning to set feels like reconnecting with family. As they prepare for the story of Benedict and the Lady in Silver, Bailey is excited about new cast members Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha joining the series, and he looks forward to dropping by occasionally to catch up.

As fans eagerly anticipate Season 4 of the historical series where he’s a key character, we’re excited this week about his role in the upcoming prequel to The Wizard of Oz, titled Wicked. In this musical, Bailey portrays Fiyero, initially known for his carefree lifestyle and lack of academic focus. He sings, “Life is less troubled when you’re thoughtless, why think too hard when it feels so relaxing to dance through life?” However, as the story unfolds, he becomes a complex ally to both the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North. Although Fiyero does appear in The Wizard of Oz’s narrative, revealing his role in Wicked might spoil a significant twist in Act 2. Since the movie will be split into two parts, this crucial scene may even be saved for the next installment in the adaptation.

As a gamer, I can’t wait to run into Jonathan at the coolest spot in town, be it the Ozdust Ballroom or an event in the ‘hood.
