Succession star Jeremy Strong looks almost unrecognisable as he debuts new clean shaven appearance and darker locks at star-studded Governors Awards 2024

I have to say, reading about Jeremy Strong’s journey with Succession is quite fascinating. The man truly immersed himself in his role as Kendall Roy, to the point where he carried the character’s struggle even off-set. His dedication and commitment are commendable, but it’s clear that this intense method acting took a toll on his mental health.

At the Governors Awards, held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Ovation Hollywood on Sunday, Jeremy Strong from Succession was hardly recognizable during his attendance.

45-year-old, acclaimed actor who is well recognized for portraying Kendall Roy in the HBO show, unveiled a fresh look with a clean-shaven face and darkened hair.

Instead of sporting his distinctive mustache and stubble, Jeremy opted for a clean-shaven look while gracing the red carpet in a fashionable pale green suit paired with a neat white shirt underneath.

Additionally, he displayed a richer black hair color rather than the previous mixture of gray and brown, which he recently fashioned into a quiff.

At the glamorous gathering, Jeremy was delighted to meet up again with his previous on-screen sibling, Kieran Culkin, aged 42, known for portraying Jeremy’s character Roman Roy.

As a lifestyle expert, I might say something like: “I, myself, sparkled in a dazzling tuxedo adorned with jewels, my energy electrifying the air as I struck pose after pose, creating quite a spectacle before the grand event began.

After Jeremy’s disclosure about his involvement in Succession, there was a concerning effect on his psychological wellbeing over the long term.

The actor shared that there were moments when he felt disconnected from happiness as he contemplated his portrayal of the character in the critically acclaimed TV show.

‘It f***ed me up,’ he admitted in a recent interview with The Sunday Times before adding that he ‘doesn’t miss it.’

After leaving the position, the Golden Globe award recipient, who had faced criticism from his on-screen dad, Brian Cox, for his persistent method acting style, now claims to have rediscovered happiness in his life.

‘I went on a silent meditation retreat last week,’ he continued. ‘I really needed it.’ 

He explained: ‘There’s so much noise and busyness now. I have opportunities that I only ever imagined.’

Jeremy also shared how healing the silent retreat was to his life and well-being.

‘I’ve rediscovered play,’ he said. ‘I sometimes lost touch with joy.’ 

Previously, the well-known method actor found himself deeply affected while portraying the character of Kendall, the troubled outcast within the powerful Roy family.

During his chat, he admitted how relieved he was to leave the role and the show behind.

Instead of leaving his character behind when not filming, much like his fellow actors, he carried Kendall with him both on and off set.

Previously, he shared with the media that he used to think about dreadful scenarios in his personal life as a means of psyching himself up for his acting role. Unfortunately, this method ended up negatively affecting his mental wellbeing.

Currently, he expressed that while Succession was a blessing, he’s relieved not to bear the burden of Kendall’s strife any longer, and he doesn’t pine for those days.

Strong expressed deep appreciation for the show Succession, saying it was an immeasurable gift to be part of it. He felt the material was rich and nourishing, and he will genuinely miss it.

I went on saying: ‘However, Kendall’s journey for seven long years was quite a burden. Yet, there’s still so much more I aspire to accomplish.’

If asked about reprising his role for a spin-off, he flatly declined the possibility.

He expressed that he no longer feels inclined to continue with it, and while he acknowledges its significance in his life story, he doesn’t pine for it anymore.
