Paddington Bear is to drop an album with the West End cast after recording at the iconic Abbey Road studios

As a huge Paddington fan, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that a new album is coming out! It’s going to feature the wonderful cast from the West End show, and I can’t wait to hear what they’ve all created. It’s such a lovely idea and I know I’ll be listening to it on repeat!

The popular character, known from 29 books and three movies, recently made his stage debut in a musical dedicated to him. He’s now recording music for the show at the famous Abbey Road Studios.

As a huge Paddington fan, I was absolutely delighted to see him pay tribute to The Beatles! He looked incredible recreating that iconic Abbey Road album cover – seriously, that little red hat and blue coat just perfectly captured the moment. It was such a clever and heartwarming homage!

The four-foot-tall bear left his old, worn suitcase and half-eaten marmalade sandwich behind so he could pose for pictures.

Good news for fans! Decca Records has announced that the soundtrack to Paddington The Musical, featuring the original cast, will now be released on April 10th – earlier than previously planned.

This album features the complete West End cast singing with a full orchestra, recorded at the iconic Abbey Road Studios. Matt Brind arranged, orchestrated, and produced the music, which was written by Tom Fletcher.

The physical release (vinyl, CD, Yoto) will be dropped on 22 May 2026.

Paddington is currently running at the Savoy Theatre until May 30, 2027.

Following Paddington’s memorable and popular appearance at the 2026 EE BAFTA Awards in February – where he delighted the audience – this is the next development.

The popular performer paused their run in a West End show to attend the awards ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

It was incredible seeing Paddington walk onto the stage! He gave the most charming tip of his red hat to everyone, and the crowd was absolutely packed with stars – Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, Leonardo DiCaprio, even Timothée Chalamet were all there! As a huge fan, it was a dream come true.

Wearing his familiar blue coat, the bear set aside his old suitcase and favorite marmalade sandwich when he went on stage to present the award for best Children’s & Family Film, accepting the winning envelope and a special gong.

Standing at a small podium, Paddington said, ‘I can see you’re all surprised to see me, and honestly, I’m just as surprised as you are!’

The bear talked about his dear, older aunt who raised him in Peru, and the Brown family, who adopted him after he moved to London.

Paddington went on to explain that his Aunt Lucy always said it’s important to be brave and confront your fears, but if you encounter a snake, it’s best to back away very carefully.

Mrs. Brown explained this was a first for BAFTA – she’s the first bear to ever present an award! It seems I also made history as the first presenter to get marmalade on a BAFTA award. I apologize for the mess – I was going to try and lick it clean, but apparently, that wasn’t considered polite!

Oh my gosh, you guys, it was AMAZING! Paddington—yes, the Paddington—just announced the winner, and it was ‘Boong’! It’s this incredible coming-of-age film from India, made in Manipuri, and it’s coming out in 2024! I’m seriously so excited, I’ve been following this project for ages!

People quickly went to X to share their thoughts on the sweet and endearing moment, with many saying Paddington Bear outshone the famous actors and actresses.

It’s moments like these that make me feel like a kid again! It’s just so cute – I absolutely love Paddington! It’s truly wonderful.

Paddington Bear is a natural star and should be invited to all future red carpet events – he definitely stole the show at the #EEBAFTAs!

Paddington Bear’s surprise appearance at the BAFTA Film Awards was a perfectly charming British moment – a delightful mix of marmalade and movie glamour.

Paddington completely won over the BAFTAs with his adorable charm and the memorable line about being the first bear ever – it was perfectly delightful chaos! He deserves his own award category!

Everyone loved Paddington at the BAFTAs! The adorable bear charmed the audience and even inspired them, proving that anyone – even a bear! – can be courageous and lovable. He was the star of the #EEBAFTAs!

Paddington Bear is brought to life by a team: Arti Shah wears the Paddington costume, while James Hameed voices the character and controls his facial expressions remotely.

Critics are praising the new musical, Paddington, which officially opened in December. The show has received a lot of positive reviews.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share a heartwarming story! This adorable lost bear has traveled all the way from Peru to London’s West End, and he’s been absolutely charming families along the way. It’s so lovely to see something so sweet bring joy to everyone!

Currently playing at the Savoy Theatre, this show – directed by Luke Sheppard and featuring original music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher from McFly – tells the funny story of Paddington and his adventures with the Brown family.

The show immediately made a great impression. Patrick Marmion of The Daily Mail called it ‘exceptionally cute’ and gave it a perfect five-star rating.
