NASCAR: 2025 Coca-Cola 600 not being broadcast on Fox

As a dedicated NASCAR enthusiast with decades of racing under my belt, I must say this new media rights deal is shaking things up! The addition of Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports to the mix feels like a breath of fresh air. Don’t get me wrong, Fox and NBC have been great companions on my journey, but having more broadcasters means more perspectives and insights to enjoy.

Starting from the 2025 NASCAR season, I’m excited to share that we’ve got two fresh faces joining our racing family as part of a seven-year, $7.7 billion media rights deal. These new broadcast partners are all set to bring a whole new level of excitement to the Cup Series!

Originally, Fox and NBC were the sole broadcasters for the sport under a 10-year deal; however, starting from now, Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports will also be airing the sport, with their respective contracts lasting until 2031.

Initially, Fox and NBC were expected to handle the majority of the season with 18 and 20 races respectively. However, Fox will now only manage 14 races (12 points races), while NBC’s responsibilities have been reduced to 14 as well. In contrast, Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports are taking on a total of five races each.

Fox remains the frontrunner for opening the season. However, the last race in Fox’s broadcasting schedule, which is the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 18th, implies that the Coca-Cola 600 will be airing on a different channel instead.

Coca-Cola 600 moves to Amazon Prime Video

On Sunday, May 25th, the highly anticipated race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, often referred to as its most prestigious event, will mark the beginning of Amazon Prime Video’s live broadcasting series.

To date, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the only individual in the broadcast team who has been officially announced. His role includes serving as a commentator for TNT Sports. Prior to this, he worked as a commentator for NBC from 2018 until 2023, taking a break during the 2024 season. Afterward, he signed new contracts.

Amazon Prime Video’s lineup additionally features NASCAR races at Nashville Superspeedway, Michigan International Speedway, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, and Pocono Raceway. After that, TNT Sports will assume control for the entire five-race mid-season event. Later on, NBC will conclude the regular season and then handle the entire four-round, 10-race postseason.

14 races from Fox’s 2025 season will air on the primary Fox network, while the remaining 9 races will be shown on Fox Sports 1. Conversely, only four races out of NBC’s 14 will air on their main channel, with the other ten being broadcast on USA Network, which replaced NBC Sports Network as the secondary channel during NBC’s schedule after the latter was discontinued at the end of 2021.
