Nova radio host reveals the most 'intimidating' stars he has ever met: 'That was pretty hardcore'

As a lifelong follower and admirer of Australian music, I’ve had my fair share of star-struck moments throughout my career. However, none have been as intimidating as meeting Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and Robert Smith from The Cure. The former, with his towering 6’4″ height and bottle of Jägermeister in hand, was a sight to behold, while the latter, with his punk rock attitude and visual appeal, left me speechless.

Radio host Tim Blackwell has shared the most awe-inspiring celebrities he’s encountered during his lengthy career in the entertainment industry.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must confess that I was quite jittery when I recently had the pleasure of encountering Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and Robert Smith from The Cure. Their musical prowess is undeniable, and standing in their presence left me feeling star-struck.

He interviewed the former ‘backstage at a show in Brisbane’ and confessed he was intimidated by the rocker’s towering 6’4″ height, reported News.com.au.

Tim mentioned that he talked with Josh, who’s 51, during a show in Brisbane, and he noticed Josh carrying a bottle of Jägermeister, taking sips from it as he wandered around,” stated Tim.

Man, that was intense! To top it off, I got the chance to encounter the legendary Robert Smith from The Cure in person. Just looking at him, he exudes an aura of intimidating coolness that left me in awe.

He sports an edgy makeup style and carries a distinctly rebellious demeanor reminiscent of punk rock. When I spoke with him, his responses were incredibly quiet yet direct.

Initially taken aback by Robert’s imposing presence, Tim found comfort as he observed the 65-year-old British punk rocker struggling to make a toasted sandwich, which humanized him in Tim’s eyes.

The radio personality, who is set to be the host of this year’s ARIAs, said watching Robert make a sandwich made him realise the rocker was ‘just one of us’.

Tim added that it was ‘quite a cute moment’.
