Colin Farrell shares The Batman Part II update

As a gamer with a soft spot for superhero movies and a deep affection for The Batman series, I can’t help but feel like a kid at Christmas with Colin Farrell‘s latest update about The Batman – Part II. Having seen him bring Oswald Cobblepot to life in both the movie and HBO’s The Penguin, I’m genuinely excited about what Matt Reeves has in store for us.

Colin Farrell shared some news about “The Batman – Part II”, mentioning that he hasn’t gotten around to reading the script just yet.

In Matt Reeves’ superhero movie, the actor took on the character of the wicked Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin. Previously, he had portrayed this role in the HBO crime-drama series titled “The Penguin“.

Now that “The Penguin” has ended its show recently, the focus has shifted towards Reeves’ next project following the 2022 film, as Colin Farrell hinted his readiness to reprise his role as the sinister mobster antagonist.

As a gaming enthusiast, I must confess that I’m in the dark about what the second film will bring. Rumor has it that Penguin will make an appearance, but I haven’t had a chance to delve into the details yet. It’s intriguing to ponder where the story might continue given all the groundwork that’s been laid. I can only imagine where this narrative journey takes us next. However, if Penguin does show up, he’ll be quite different from what we’re used to.

Despite giving the impression that Farrell may not know where The Batman – Part II is headed, it’s worth noting that he recently shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he has been informed about the number of scenes he will appear in. However, it seems his role might be smaller compared to the first movie.

He revealed that he may appear in between 5 to 6 scenes in “The Batman – Part II,” without any preconceived notions or anticipations. Instead, his enthusiasm stems from being genuinely receptive to things that excite him or not.

Over the course of their careers, actors might find themselves burdened with an excessive amount of decision-making responsibilities. However, this doesn’t mean I won’t challenge them or voice my disagreements when it comes to Oz. In fact, I feel confident that I understand him better than anyone else at this point.

Although Farrell may not yet possess a great deal of details about the upcoming sequel, Reeves provided an update on the project as far back as September, mentioning that the finishing touches were being made to the script prior to the start of filming in 2025.

The Batman is available to buy now on 4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray and DVD.
