Louise Thompson celebrates being reunited with her son Leo for his third birthday after fears she would miss the milestone amid ongoing health scare
As a compassionate observer, I find myself deeply moved by Louise’s journey. The resilience she displays in the face of adversity is truly inspiring. Her strength, both mental and physical, is a testament to her spirit. It’s heartwarming to see how she finds light even in the darkest of situations, and her ability to find kindness amidst hardship is nothing short of remarkable.
Louise Thompson celebrated being back with her family for her son Leo’s third birthday on Friday.
This past week, the ex-star from Made In Chelsea, aged 34, encountered another health challenge. She was urgently taken in for a surgical procedure and later experienced septic shock.
Despite her apprehension about possibly not being there for her son’s third birthday, fortunately, she managed to return home just in time. Although their elaborate birthday plans had to be scrapped, the mother of one acknowledged that it was a minor inconvenience considering the bigger picture.
Sharing a heartwarming video of her son on Instagram, she wrote: ‘Today is my little one’s 3rd birthday. Originally, we were planning a grand family event in Somerset filled with VIP zoo adventures, gourmet meals, entertainment, luxurious glamping tents, and more. However, it seems we will celebrate this special day at home instead.’
‘We’re not and it’s a bit of a shame, but a teeny tiny loss in the grand scheme of things.
You might picture a complex machine with many working components, but the crucial point is that we’ve reunited and are running smoothly again.
Today, we’re putting in our utmost effort to ensure this birthday becomes the most exceptional occasion for him, as it’s Leo who truly takes center stage today.
Essentially, we’re gathering items that he cherishes, fortunately, they’re straightforward, affordable choices like cakes, music, small toys, and his loved ones.
After spending two weeks in the hospital, she mentioned that her family will visit over the weekend for further festivities, intending to rest and enjoy their company.
Overflowing with joy, I can’t help but exclaim: “Beyond blessed am I, to be the mom of the coolest, most hilarious kid around! Tonight, I’ve shared all my heartfelt praises and tender words into your precious ears – a secret treasure meant just for us.
This video showcases your incredible bravery and fearlessness. Dogs themselves found it too daunting to traverse that brightly lit area, but not you, Leo! You exhibited tremendous courage instead. We are all very proud of you, and of course, of ourselves too.
Last Friday, Zara McDermott, currently in a relationship with Sam (Louise’s brother), took to wishing Leo a joyous birthday, expressing how the baby brings delight to everyone by helping them cherish small joys, as Louise continues her tough health struggle.
In addition, she posted a picture while snuggling with the birthday boy affectionately known as “Leo Bear,” along with some heartwarming words.
‘On your special day, dear son of ours, turning THREE years old! You make every place brighter just by entering with that broad smile and heartwarming affection.’
As a lifestyle enthusiast, allow me to share a sentiment that resonates deeply: Cherish every small delight life offers, stay grounded in the present moment, and embrace even the simplest of experiences. You, my friend, are a constant reminder of these truths as you sneak into my cookie stash and shower me with affectionate kisses and warm embraces – moments I cherish beyond measure.
Before adding: ‘I love you Leo Bear’.
Later on, she playfully hinted: ‘By the way, a birthday post is coming up tomorrow as I return home after my workweek away, and when I present him with his gift, it will be… extraordinary!’
On Thursday, Louise announced happily that she would make it home in time to join her son’s celebration, having earlier worried she might still be in the hospital recuperating.
On Instagram, the mother posted a heartwarming video of her son playing during bath time, delighting in the fact that she could celebrate his special day with him, as expressed by Louise.
In a caption, the TV host expressed: “Never before have I felt such deep love. The way he pronounces ‘Claus’ melts my heart. Over the last fortnight, I’ve rewatched this clip an astonishing 100,000 times.
‘Tomorrow you turn 3. Wow. And I get to spend it with you. Double wow. I know what’s on the top of my gratitude list.’
Later on, the TV host posted the video to her Instagram stories with this caption: ‘This video takes all my troubles away’
After Louise shared that she’s feeling bummed and a tad puzzled because Ryan Libbey opted to host the podcast on his own, even though I was petrified when she had to dash off to the hospital, here I am, left yearning for more of their dynamic duo podcast episodes.
Despite her two-week stay at the hospital, Ryan continued to work on their podcast “He Said, She Said”. He handled the latest episode alone since she was indisposed, sharing the harrowing experiences they’d been through.
On her Instagram Story, Louise posted the podcast link, but found herself saddened when she watched a particular clip, confessing that she wouldn’t even listen to it herself.
She wrote: “Watching that one video shattered my heart, so I’ll postpone listening to the podcast this week until I’ve fully recuperated and feel completely detached from that particular challenge.
In a manner that suggested disappointment, she commented: “It’s quite disheartening and perplexing to me why Ryan hosted the podcast alone so soon in our podcast adventure. However, I guess it’s going forward.
‘I’m v proud of you for getting on and doing it.’
During that episode, I couldn’t help but rush my partner straight to the emergency room when she was hit with excruciating stomach pain – a moment I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
He said he had returned from a weekend visiting his family in Devon to find Louise ‘rolling around in heaps of pain’ at the London home their share with Leo.
By the early hours of the morning she could take no more and Ryan rushed her to A&E ‘and a few hours later she was on the operating table.’
Louise recently had surgery on the same abdominal region where she has been healing since early this year, following her stoma operation. This development came as a surprise, as Ryan explained to his audience.
During the surgery, unexpected difficulties occurred, leading to a severe condition called septic shock. Ryan’s explanation underscores just how critical the situation became.
Ryan shared with his audience that his fiancee is now on the mend and no longer in the intensive care unit. However, he admitted that the harrowing experience has left a significant impact on them both.
On Wednesday, Louise shared with her followers on Instagram that the world has seemed a little unfair to her once more.
The star shared a photo of Ryan placing a sunshine balloon at the end of her bed as she told her followers: ‘It’s World kindness day. The world feels like it’s been a bit unkind to me again.’
She mentioned that she eagerly anticipates returning home quickly, particularly since it’s her son Leo’s third birthday on November 15th.
Today marks a fresh start, and ideally, it leads me home. To be honest, I’ve been in the hospital lately, feeling quite unwell. The word ‘unwell’ seems to echo the fragility of aging sickness.
‘Speaking, I get this odd sensation like a grandma blowing soap bubbles, it seems unwell, much like how I felt. Yet, I’m just 34 and boasting an unusual strength, both mentally and physically. If I may say so myself.’
Louise eventually confessed, “At this stage, I’m quite ashamed, but there’s hope,” while expressing gratitude towards the hospital team and her loved ones for their care.
Even though I underwent surgery, the butt drain, catheter, stoma, and other drains like the dreaded pigtail drain, along with numerous cannulas, have been causing me trouble. I wish I had agreed to that picc line instead. My blood tests seem endless, and my body has felt like it’s going through a lot lately. I’ve often felt like a zombie. But amidst all this, there has been so much kindness everywhere.
Due to the fact that it’s been rather alarming to have my body filled with numerous unfamiliar items, I’m truly astonished I was able to move around at all given the situation.
‘I literally had a tail dangling out of me. Stitched in. In fact I felt like an octopus with multiple legs or tubes (turns out a cannula with different entry points is called an octopus too). Great minds. Or a great subconscious mind and memory of mine.’
Oh, what a relief to have potent opiates helping me navigate my toughest moments. How fortunate we are for poppy plants. How fortunate for humanity’s progress, for the advancements in medical science.
Let’s shift our focus back on what truly matters: being kind. I’ve encountered numerous individuals who displayed unparalleled kindness and helped me navigate through tough times, going above and beyond.
Exceptionally compassionate individual. These are the people who cross your path, leaving you in awe of their kindness, wishing you could emulate such selflessness. They consistently go beyond expectations to assist others, making them true stars, a divine blessing bestowed upon humanity.
It’s truly amazing to find individuals who possess such an extraordinary warmth. To be honest, what I meant was not ‘cool’, but rather ‘warm’. You see, ‘warm’ surpasses ‘cool’ in my opinion. The world is undoubtedly a better place with you in it.
‘My faith in humanity is actually at an all time high right now.’
He mentioned, “She seems to be enduring a lot; it feels like her spirit is being crushed, leaving her drained and helpless.
