Saoirse Ronan’s breakthrough movie is on TV tonight
As a long-time admirer of Saoirse Ronan’s exceptional talent, I can confidently say that her 2024 is shaping up to be nothing short of extraordinary. With the awards buzz surrounding her performances in “The Outrun” and “Blitz”, it feels like we are finally witnessing the culmination of a career that has been building towards this moment since her breakout role in “Atonement.
2024’s been treating me pretty well, with all the hype surrounding my performances in “The Outrun” and “Blitz.” Can’t wait for everyone to catch them on Apple TV+ starting next week!
Should she receive an Oscar nomination for either of her roles, it would signify her fifth nomination (with the possibility of her sixth if both are considered). To date, she hasn’t claimed the award, but her stellar performance in “Atonement” demonstrated that she was destined to become a shining talent.
In the war romance movie, Ronan earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She portrayed the role of the younger Briony, appearing alongside stars like Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, and Vanessa Redgrave.
If you haven’t seen it, or fancy a rewatch, Atonement airs tonight (November 16) at 11.10pm on BBC One.
You don’t need to stay awake if it’s past your bedtime, not even on a Saturday night. The movie “Atonement” will soon become accessible for viewing on BBC iPlayer shortly following its airing.
While we anticipate if Saoirse Ronan will win her initial Oscar for either “The Outrun” or “Blitz“, it’s worth noting that this year marks a new milestone in her career as she has produced a film for the very first time.
In collaboration with her spouse and co-actor Jack Lowden, she created the film titled “The Outrun“, and she shared with Digital Spy that it was precisely what she found to be most beneficial for her.
Ronan clarified that it was an outstanding method for him to escape his personal thoughts and focus on the larger context, as well as channel his energy productively towards those he was collaborating with.
In case the suggestions about hair and makeup are not being heeded enough, or a cast member requires more of something – be it on set or off – I can step in to assist. Since I’ve been in similar situations myself, I have a strong sense of empathy and understanding for those in comparable roles.
Tonight, I’m thrilled to catch “Atonement” airing at 11:10 PM on BBC One! If you miss it, don’t worry, you can easily stream it on BBC iPlayer soon after the broadcast.
