Notorious Block bidder Adrian Portelli ‘in talks’ to host rival show in 2025 after leaving Nine’s hit

Notorious Block bidder Adrian Portelli 'in talks' to host rival show in 2025 after leaving Nine's hit

As a seasoned observer of the property market and a keen follower of The Block, I must say that the antics of Adrian Portelli never cease to amaze me. His latest stunt – giving away an entire resort worth millions – is nothing short of audacious, even for someone as flamboyant as him.

Last week on The Block, I couldn’t believe my eyes as Adrian Portelli made history by shelling out an astounding $15.03 million for all five Phillip Island properties! Just a few days ago, he declared 2024 would be his final year on the renovation series – little did we know he was saving up such a stunner! I’m beyond excited to see what magic he’ll work with these properties.

But now there is talk that the notorious bidder has not quite finished with TV after all.

It has been disclosed that the 35-year-old tycoon is reportedly engaged in talks with competitors of Nine’s network regarding launching his own program.

According to a TV network source, it’s plausible that he might create and manage a home renovation-themed show all by himself. (New Idea reported this on Saturday.)

According to the source, one of the proposed ideas under consideration is a reality show that shares some similarities with Channel Seven’s Dream Home, which is presented by Chris Brown.

The source added that Portelli’s LMCT+ giveaway business was ‘built’ for television.

They mentioned that he’s currently the charismatic figure on television, and with networks aiming to strengthen their programming for the upcoming year, he’ll likely be in high demand.

As per the information, Channel 10 is planning to debut a fresh lifestyle program, whereas Seven might be working on redesigning their Dream Home series.

And the insider says that Portelli would be ideal casting for both networks.

According to the source, Adrian, known for his sharp business acumen, is expected to initiate discussions with prominent television networks in the upcoming months, aiming to secure a significant deal.

Speaking passionately, I’d rephrase it like this: “I can’t help but marvel at his exceptional knack for grasping the desires of both audiences and Australians. That makes him an invaluable asset, a true treasure!

Following the allegations that Portelli utilized a legal technicality to permit his firm to gift away the five homes slated for The Block’s 2024 season, this action occurred.

As a devoted follower, I’m excited to share that through my LMCT+ company, I will be giving someone the incredible opportunity to win these luxurious dwellings, which I announced on Facebook Portelli.

However, the kind act was followed by allegations suggesting that Portelli was taking advantage of a technicality or gap in his charitable scheme, which was perceived as a loophole in the law.

The newspaper, The Guardian, claims that Portelli and his company offering free prizes have allegedly taken advantage of a gap or oversight (loophole) to distribute approximately $70 million worth of prizes, which includes real estate properties from the Channel Nine reality show at Phillip Island.

The article referenced a video shared by Portelli in February, where he stated that when he began working with LMCT+, an unnamed gaming commission informed him it was against the law for the company to hold car raffles.

At a crucial point, he stated in the video, “Instead of quitting, I considered giving my car away to one of those who purchased the software. And if everyone who buys the software gets the car, what an amazing incentive that would be!

Around ten minutes passed, I phoned the gaming commission again and asked, “By any chance, what would happen if I gifted a car to one of my clients?” To which they replied, “Yes, that’s acceptable.

Portelli added that he then stopped using the word ‘raffle’.

‘It’s not a loophole, it’s a legal way to give away a car,’ he said.

In Australia, it’s only non-profit organizations that have the authority to organize lotteries.

In other words, companies can carry out trade promotions that are governed by state laws, provided they don’t charge any fee but instead offer merchandise or services in return.

LMCT Plus provides a membership program granting exclusive discounts at certain retailers, along with entry into raffles within its loyalty program’s reward system.

For The Block giveaway, LMCT+ is offering its members an exciting opportunity: either they could potentially win the entire Philip Island Resort complete with five lavishly decorated homes, or they can choose to receive a whopping $8 million in tax-free money instead.

The promotion also offers one-off packages, ranging from $10 for one entry to $500 for 500 entries.

The company’s actions are transparent and legitimate. According to a representative from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, an investigation into allegations against LMCT+ did not yield any violations of Victorian law.

In a similar vein, an official representative from the NSW Fair Trading Commission, who conducted investigations on the company in both 2022 and 2023, didn’t discover any legal infractions by LMCT+.

It has been disclosed that a probe regarding LMCT+ is being conducted at this time by the Consumer and Business Services of South Australia.

After breaking the record at the Block auction over the weekend, Portelli unveiled the grand resort giveaway on Facebook.

New leadership here! As the mayor of Portelli Town, I am thrilled to share an unprecedented announcement: We are giving away a resort! That’s right, a resort!” (Portelli posted this exciting news on Facebook)

1 Chance to Win – 1 Grand Prize – Choose between a full vacation resort or an immediate $8,000,000 tax-free cash! The fun starts now.

The ‘rewards club’ Portelli has made his billions from sees his customers pay for different tiers of membership to receive a number of entries in luxury giveaways.

On past seasons, Portelli has become well-known for his eye-catching acquisitions. It’s nothing new to him that he transforms Block properties into significant media events.

In the year 2022, he initially caught attention when he showed up at Omar and Oz’s auction in a bright yellow Lamborghini, a move that subsequently gave him the moniker “Mr. Lambo”.

In the end, it was Danny Wallis whose offer of $4.5 million outbid His on the property, leaving Portelli as the successful bidder for Sharon and Ankur’s home at the same price of $4.5 million following the auction.

In 2023, following denials of being a sham buyer intended to inflate prices, Portelli made another appearance and shelled out approximately $12.4 million to acquire three properties.

I can’t help but get excited whenever my favorite company, LMCT+, announces a giveaway! Last year, they even bought the stunning $5 million house won by Steph and Gian from the show – talk about living the dream!

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Portelli for comment.
