Lana Del Rey breaks silence on claims she is feuding with Lizzo after fake TikTok screenshot controversy

As a devoted follower of both Lana Del Rey and Lizzo, I was absolutely thrilled when the rumors of their online feud surfaced, eagerly anticipating the next exchange between these two musical powerhouses. However, as a seasoned internet user with a keen eye for satire, it didn’t take long for me to suspect that something wasn’t quite right about this situation. The fabricated exchanges were too over-the-top and petty to be genuine, and the fact that they were coming from an account that bills itself as a parody only solidified my suspicions.

Lana Del Rey has denied allegations of an internet spat with artist Lizzo and clarified that she doesn’t possess an authentic TikTok account.

This week, admirers found themselves taken aback when rumors surfaced that the two female figures might be engaged in a heated dispute through social media platforms, following Drop Pop’s posting on the old platform (previously known as Twitter) of an exchange that appeared to be a verbal spat between them.

In my loyalty as a follower, I’d like to share a rephrased version of the Drop Pop post. Originally, it showed a screenshot where Lizzo, aged 36 at the time, was alleged to have commented on a TikTok video with, “I’d like to see you back on the charts.” In response, Lana, then 39, is said to have quipped, “I would love to see you running on a treadmill.

However, it’s important to note that the Drop Pop account, known for its humor, presents a satirical perspective on trending entertainment news, and the comments made were intended as jokes rather than actual news reports.

Lana, who recently showed off her new wedding ring, seemed to be hinting at this when she commented on an Instagram post with a screenshot, saying: “I don’t believe I have an official TikTok account, other than the one for grants, sooooo…” followed by: “Or a Twitter,” and then: “This is quite unexpected.

When a snapshot of her remarks was posted on X, people reacted swiftly, with one individual asserting, “I’m certain she had a good chuckle when she read this.

1st Person: “Apparently, people thought that was genuine.

One user commented, “You all should cease arranging my Chess Piece that is the Queen!”, and another replied, “Inauthentic. I suspected it all along.

I’ve got to say, I couldn’t help but notice that she never explicitly expressed her disagreement with the post. It’s almost as if it was a cleverly disguised satire, just like I suspected all along!

Initially, a controversial post, garnering over 20 million views, 380,000 likes, and 22,000 shares as per Complex, was taken down following its upload on Wednesday night.

Fans were engrossed in the ongoing exchange after a subsequent update featured a fabricated screenshot, which seemed to show Lizzo expressing hope that an alligator would eat the large figure of Lana’s husband Jeremy Dufrene (who offers alligator tours).

In the comic post, fake Del Rey replied, ‘You’d know about eating biggie.’

Nevertheless, the persistent focus might have caused the satire to veer beyond acceptable boundaries, leading to a community warning from X users.

The statement mentioned that the interaction between Lana and Lizzo, as depicted, was actually a jest or a playful fabrication. Additionally, it was clarified that @DropPopNet is known for being a parody account, which means they often post content that imitates or mimics other accounts in a humorous or satirical manner.

Indeed, I couldn’t find any signs of argumentative exchanges between Lizzo and Lana Del Rey in the TikTok comment area.

Yet, their supporters discovered this fact the difficult route when they delved into the comments in pursuit of criticism.

‘I THOUGHT THE LIZZO COMMENT WAS REAL,’ wrote one disappointed TikTok user.

‘We’re all here for the same reason I guess,’ added another person.

One user confessed, ‘I was easily fooled because it was fake,’ while another individual asserted that they had ‘always suspected it to be unreal.’
