ITV announces new County Durham-set comedy with Nick Frost and Jordan Gray
As a seasoned gamer who’s seen more sitcoms than I care to admit, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement about the upcoming comedy series, Transaction. The prospect of Nick Frost and Jordan Gray sharing the screen is like a dream come true for me – it’s as if Edgar Wright dropped by for a cameo in my favorite game!
ITV has revealed plans for a fresh comedy show featuring Nick Frost, known from the Cornetto Trilogy, as well as Jordan Gray, another popular comedian.
Entitled “Transaction“, this series is set in County Durham and features Gray portraying Liv, an eccentric individual identified as a trans person, causing chaos on her late-night shifts at a local supermarket.
The official summary goes on to say: “Liv is employed at the store by Simon (Frost), after he caused a stir with an insensitive marketing campaign targeting the LGBTQ+ community. Realizing she can’t be fired, Liv decides to transform the store into her own amusement park, causing mayhem for everyone and everything around her.
In addition to the cast of “Good Omens,” we have actors like Doon Mackichan, known for her role in that series, Thomas Gray from “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” and Francesca Mills, who has worked on “The Witcher.” Filming for this project is currently taking place in Hartlepool.
Jordan Gray, the creator himself, remarked in a statement: “I aim to make this show just as enduring as my cosmetic enhancements.
ITV’s Head of Comedy, Nana Hughes, stated: “Jordan Gray’s special mix of wit and imagination definitely makes the show ‘Transaction‘ a thrilling and entertaining comedy. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing Jordan Gray and Nick Frost in action.
According to executive producer Kenton Allen, the series “Transaction” is set to captivate viewers with its modern, humorous take on life. The trio of Jordan Gray, Nick Frost, and Thomas Gray will create a unique and electrifying dynamic in this unconventional yet compelling threesome.
In a more casual tone, “Jordan’s witty writing and perfect timing combined with Nick’s iconic humor makes for an explosive comedy combo.
Back in 2016, I stepped into the spotlight as a contestant on the fifth season of The Voice UK. That made me the first transgender competitor on the show. I managed to make it all the way to the semifinals, but unfortunately, my journey ended there.
After her stint on The Voice, Gray moved into comedy and has since featured on numerous comedy programs including The Russell Howard Hour, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Friday Night Live, and Late Night Lycett.
Transaction does not yet have a release date.
