Progressive Rivalry Series Alabama vs LSU recap

Progressive Rivalry Series Alabama vs LSU recap

As a die-hard college football fan with roots deeply embedded in Alabama soil, I must say that Saturday’s Rivalry Series victory was as sweet as Crimson Tide BBQ sauce! The Progressive Rivalry Series has never failed to deliver excitement, and this year’s event against LSU was no exception.

The Rivalry Series returned to showcase the intense matchup between Alabama and LSU.

Following an intense football game on November 9 that ended with Alabama’s victory over LSU, these two schools moved their rivalry online. The Progressive Rivalry Series, which had been on a one-year break, came back to life, pitting Alabama against LSU in College Football 25. Current students, famous alumni, and social media influencers from both schools engaged in friendly competition, aiming to secure the title of Rivalry Series champion for their respective teams.

Rivalry Series results

Just as I dominated my Saturday football game, Alabama ruled the day with sheer dominance in this event. Kicking things off, I, BeardedBlevins, defended Erobb from LSU, securing a point for us in the Influencer Championship match. From there, we never looked back, racking up 6 points in the athlete showdowns. Greg Penn III managed to get one point for LSU, but it wasn’t enough, resulting in a decisive victory for Alabama with a final score of 7-1.

Highlights

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but revel in the electrifying encounters of the Alabama versus LSU Rivalry Series! The most pulse-pounding game of them all saw LSU squeeze through with a single point. In an epic four-overtime battle, LSU linebacker Greg Penn III outshone Alabama’s star quarterback Jalen Milroe—24-22 was the final score. After missing his chance to score in the 3OT, Penn stood firm and denied Milroe entry into the end zone on consecutive plays during both the 3OT and 4OT. In the decisive 4OT play, Penn called an audacious end around handoff to his wide receiver, who charged toward the endzone, securing victory for Penn in this thrilling clash!

In this contest, the most significant win margin occurred when Damien Harris, a previous running back for Alabama and the NFL, overcame Marlon Favorite, a former LSU and NFL defensive tackle, resulting in a decisive 70-0 victory.

Alabama’s impressive 70-point lead wasn’t even close to their full potential. Jamhyr Gibbs, a standout NFL running back for the Detroit Lions and an Alabama alum, outscored Brad Wing, a former LSU punter now playing for the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL, by 57 points in one of the most point-heavy games in their rivalry history. Gibbs scored 83 points while Wing managed 26.

In the game, although numerous matches had high scores, Alabama’s running back Jam Miller and LSU’s running back Josh Williams put on a remarkable defensive exhibition instead. The final result was a 6-0 win for Miller. The single point was earned from an interception that Miller ran back for a touchdown. Unfortunately, he missed the subsequent extra point attempt, resulting in no points being scored offensively during the match.

What comes next in the Rivalry Series

As a die-hard fan, I can’t wait to witness more exhilarating Progressive Rivalry Series action! The series makes its comeback on November 19, featuring an in-state showdown between Texas and Texas A&M. The following week, on November 26, Ohio State and Michigan will face off once again, reprising their roles from the inaugural event in 2022. With College Football Playoff stakes high for these rivalries’ games this season, the upcoming matchups promise to be nothing short of intense in the Progressive Rivalry Series!
